  1. i set of rcas= 1 cable two wires, some people may see it diff but thats the way i say it. or just RCAs

if you already gotz 2 sets of rcas then use the one you posted 1 male 2 female

Thanks for the help!! I'll buy the one I just posted then.

Here is the amp kit Imma use just for reference.

btw: about the EQ, I can't rly afford one at this time. I'll get one once I upgrade to the next car.

  2. Thats pretty much the same thing. Only reason i would even remotely say could cause a little prob is now you have 2 sets of rcas running to the amp so youll need another set of rcas and a little more chance to pick up noise. No biggie at all either will work, but if you use the ys at the amp you have one set of rcas and 2 y splitters thats it?

I'm buying a 4 channel amp kit. So I have 2 sets of RCA's. Thats enough right?

B/c when people say sets do they mean how one cable has 2 rca's at each end or literally a set of 2 cable?

  3. Hey so I called again and this setup sounded easier.... slightly

    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211ZN5Y2F/StreetWires-Zero-Noise-5-Y-adapters.html?search=y+adapters&ssi=0

    1 male 2 female.

What do you guys think of this? I guess I plug these into the back of the pre amp outs? so then it's like I have 2?

anyone thinks this makes more sense than the 2 male 1 female?

  4. So I'm just making sure I have everything I need for this install.

Will there be anything else I need for this besides the two Y-splitters?

    Just to rephrase it.

The head unit I have has 1 pre amp out and I need to install a 4 channel amp.

2 channel bridged to power the sub and the remaining 2 go only to the front speakers. While the rears are powered off the deck.

Will these Y splitters result in what I need to do this right and have everything work?

  5. Thanks guys!

I just wanted to make sure I needed to buy 2 of these Y splitters in the first place. I kinda understand but not 100%. But I'll order them. Thanks!

actually if anyone has a pic of how this would be setup that be awesome.

I dont understand what I'd do with the 2nd RCA patch cable. I know thats why I need the splitter but I don't see why it wouldn't go on the headunit to create "two pre amp out puts."

  6. So I have a clarion DXZ275MP head unit with one set of pre amp outs. I am getting a 4 channel amp, I'm gonna bridge 2 channels to run a 10 inch sub and give the other 2 channels to the front speakers, one to each.

I called crutchfield and was told I need to buy two RCA Y-adaptors.

    Is this right?

Reason I ask is bc if the head unit only has one set, the way he said it is ,that I put these on the amp. How does that solve anything?

I know I need two RCA patch cables for the 4 channel.
