  1. I dont see 15s happening at all. 12s would definitely work well. As for a box design, play around with Google Sketchup since its free. I dont know if you want to go over the wheel wells or not but port up, or drivers side would be ideal. Port back (for me) was worthless, but thats probably because my box was 25 inches tall :pardon:

Edit: you wont be able to do 51 inches wide, unless youre building the box inside of the truck, hence it wont be removable. 44" is the max you can go (I know :drink40: )

  2. Nice! I have a z-5500 as well but the sub's on its way out...been beating on it for 3 years so I guess it's had enough...

Those z-5500 prefabs are pretty nice for what they are, and get rather loud too

Ive had mine for almost 5 or 6 years, bumpin the crap out of it everyday! :drink40: I got mine at a complete steal too... $210... now all I see them for over 400 bucks, so I lucked out on these things, and I love em.

thats pretty sick iv always wanted to do one of these or a t-line for my home theater set up

Do it!... its well worth it

  3. Alright Ive been bored after work this week, so Ive decided to build a bandpass box for my 10" z-5500 woofer and see how it sounds. This is my first bandpass box so I went with the 3/1 ratio.

Designed by me of course, tuned to 40 hz with 15 sq in of port per cube.

Heres what the rest of it looks like. I built these little boxes during the winter (while I was bored also) They get hella loud

Will eventually paint it, but good enough for now! It hits a hell of a lot lower and louder than the original prefab box.
