Ok I have a BIG question, that's been bugging my for awhile now.
I want to run four 6x9's (75w RMS at 4Ohm) and two 6.5 components (100w RMS at 4Ohm). My question(s) is how do I hook them up and what kind of amp(s) should I be considering?
-
ok since u dont know very much about engines how u plan on swaping it out then????
I'm going to get my uncle to help me and I will learn. I know enough just not all that much.
-
what kinda info?
Every thing. I'm not all that good when it comes to engines.
-
Where can I get information on the 1998 Mustang 308 engine?
My plans are to put it in my 1994 Mazda B3000. Any and all help will be great!
-
You could get a supercharger... There are companies that make S/C kits for the 4.0L OHV V6 motors.
The thing is my engine is pooched. I need a new one.
-
i dont believe their will be any issues with your truck being a mazda their the same truck with different badges
That's why I went with a mustang drive line as a first choice. The only thing Mazda about the truck is the name and the emblems.
Thanks for the instant reply. The only thing is I want to keep it a V6.

Okay here are the cards I'm dealt. I have a 1994 Mazda B3000 V6, it's completely stock (apart from the sound system). The stock drive line is pretty good, just not enough for me. I was thinking of installing a V6 mustang drive line (I.E. Engine, transmission, rear axle, and what ever needs to be done to get there).
My question is it possible? Or what are some other options?
Guide lines I would like to follow:
- V6 Engine
- Reasonable fuel economy
- Automatic transmission (It's a daily driver and I don't want to get into too much trouble )
- RWD (Obviously)
- V6 Engine

fibtlforlife had 4 12" pioneer shallow mount woofers in his truck, sealed, and his SINGLE 12" Fi BL fully loaded in a ported box was way louder (his words). he metered it and it was like 2db louder or something.
I don't need it to be really loud, it's for my daily driver. Once I get my show vehicle then I will go loud. Also, I won't have to worry about space.

I just found the combination I am going with. Let me know what you think.
Pioneer TS-SW2501S2 - 10" 1200W 2-Ohm (SVC) Shallow Mount Car Subwoofer Driver

I vote SW2501S2 more power handling and i like the Sensitivity 99 .
That's the one I was leaning towards. Now I just need to find a place where I can buy one and get it shipped to Canada.
-
Which is better 2 ohm or 4 ohm? Or does it even matter?
-
I've had many people say to go with Pioneer, and I'm kinda leaning towards them.
This is one of the ones I am considering http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=211053076&listingid=80243538
I am having a hard time finding places that will ship to Canada. Any one know a good site that does?

why shallow mount?
Well as tristan560 said I don't have much space to work with. I have a Mazda B3000 ext. cab, with the seats in the back. The seats are used often and I don't want the passengers to be cramp any more then they are.
OP have you looked into other shallow subs? Type r shallow, jl's tw5 or whatever it is, or memphis's new shallow. Stereo intergrity has a nice one also.
I've been searching ebay and places like that. Also, I want 10". Thanks for the reply I will check the ones you mention out.
-
Well no one answers the other ones. I need answers so I can get started. I have a very narrow window to work on it. I've tried to see if I could delete my other ones but I am unable to.

ROCKFORD FOSGATE P3SD210 10" SHALLOW + POWER ACOUSTIK OVN1-2000 CLASS D MONO AMP
Is that a good combination?
My budget just grew since my last post. I'm able to get the good stuff now.
If you have other combination I would love to hear them I am a at this. It needs to be a shallow mount subwoofer though.

why buy cheap now and save for good you already have the 100 or so now why not save more and get something better and are you set on shallow mount?
I'm going cheap now because all I have is $100. I need shallow mount because I need to put it in the back of the cab of my truck and still be able to carry passengers. I think I'm going to go with the paire of Boss's that way I can keep one and sell the other and make most of my money back.
This is what I think I'm going to go with:

What do you think?

pioneer championship
It needs to be shallow mount. I've come across a paire of Boss shallow mount 10" for just over $100 with shipping and duties. Good enough for now or?
-
I need some bass in my truck! I have little money to spend. I want to get a temporary shallow mount 10" sub, untill I get enough money to get a good one. That way When I get the good 10" alls I will have to do is swap them.
-
Steve, I've asked around the forum what I should get in terms of 2 8" subs for my doors and 1 10" sub for the back (I drive a Mazda B3000) and people have been saying I should go with one or the other. More saying go with the 10". The subs need to be shallow mount. I came across a ROCKFORD FOSGATE P3-SD210. What do you think I should do?

Go with a DD 12" 500 series.
I don't want to use 12".
-
are you just putting in 1 8" sub in 1 door??? cuz thats what it sounds like and that would be pretty lame... sorry
like the others say save up and buy a nice 10... like a dc :trippy: :trippy:
LOL! No I'm putting... well was going to be putting an 8" in each door. Now I think I'm going to start with the 10" then see what happens.
Ok so what do you guys recomend I should use as a shallow mount 10"?

That's what I was thinking. How would I wire the 6x9s to get them down to 2ohms?
