After spending way to long working on the dash of my truck, I am not ready to make the door panels. The only problem is I'm not sure what I want to do with them. I bought two pairs of 6.5 coaxials, but I feel like I need more... I did want to put an 8'' sub in them but, IDK.
Any opinions or ideas?
Here are my panels...
The speakers can't go past the black line that is where the dash meets the door.

Get a distribution block and get a 4 channel amp and keep the mono.
This ^^^^^ and a four channel would be cheaper then buying a five channel.
-
You could always run your speaker off the head unit. I don't think running them off the mono plock along witht he woofer would end to well. The mono is desinged for sub frequencies. Not tomention a little over powered for the speakers.

I had a similar with my 2002 protege. But my problem was that the power wire from the alt was loose. I'm sure you have done this already... try cleaning all the connection ponits and tighten every thing.

Well I think I'm going to go ahead and buy the amp next pay and see how it goes. It turns out the speakers I posted in the first post aren't the ones I have. I have the 3-way version witch are 70wrms a piece.

it has a 40a fuse... do the math.... @ 70% efficiency the most it will do is 392w
Yeah... I don't know much about amps. What would the output per channel be?
-
Does this amp acctually do rated?
-
looks good, its a kenwood unit so you shouldnt have any issues with it, not sure if it'll play music from a flashdrive though
I thought all usb on h/u aloud play back from flash drives?

What if i ran a pair per channel? I am planning on getting some more speakers.

I'm going to be getting two Skar VVX15s, seening about 600 - 800 watts rms, along with four 6.5 coaxial speakers running off a MBQuart ONIX80.4. This is all going in a 1994 Mazda B3000.
My questions are:
1) Will the stock alt and battery be enugh?
2) Would a battery bank affect the cold cranking amps?
3) What should I look for in a good battery for a battery bank? (Xs batteries are not an option, due to shipping)
Put a big Xs power batt under hood ..do ur big three in sum good ofc 1/0 and to ur amps and you'll be good....make sure u have solid groundsj!
I like how you say xs is NOT an option, yet the next post( sactown) says to get a xs under the hood. Did you eeven read his post? LOL.So sanchez, are there any other power cells avalible ? Like kinetic, or atleast a yellow top?
I can get optima here, there is also a battery company near me (as near as 3h+ drive can be) that I haven't had a chance to check out yet, due to distance. They may have something. I just need to know what to ask for.

I belive mine is a 95 amp alt. I'm just trying to plan out my build befor I get to far into it. So if I can run am extra battery I will be one step closer when I get the money for the alt.
Can I use any batteries? I'm worried about cranking amps. The last thing I need is for my starter to blow. Or does that even matter?
-
So 1200-1600 rms plus the 4ch? The answer is no.
Would the stock alt power more then one battery?

The h/o alt for my truck is $500 plus shipping. I just want to know if I can make it through winter with what I have. I forgot to mention that the big 3 is already done.

If you don't mind only carrying one passenger I would suggest getting an extended cab ranger or something along thoes lines. Then you can use the extended part to get more "boom". Also your insurence should be a little cheaper and being that they are not a full size truck, they are pretty good on gas.

If you have an eBay acct, you can find the hu that I have on there for around 100 shipped.
I love it, front/rear USB inputs, and it just sounds greatttt.
And if you use an iPod, the on screen menus are hella easy to use.
It's a Pioneer DEH-P5100UB
ill try getting you some links when I'm off mobile.
Sounds good

If they don't then you should be able to order it online, and have it shipped to your store for free.
Unfortunatly I can't get the deal in Canada

Bump for info

I currently have a Pioneer avh2300-dvd double din. But I don't think it would like the -30 winters we get here. So, I'm trying to figure out which single din I should get for the winter. I've checked out most of the online dealers and local ones as well. There are just so many choices.
The one thing it must have is a usb slot. I would like it to be under $100.
I know this sounds like a "want to buy" post but, I am looking for info on decent h.u. that won't brake the bank. It's for winter use only.

Yeah I wasn't really going for true dual, just the look.
