i had an 80 amp fuse and 100 amp fuse and they didnt "pop" it just got so hot that it smoked a little and melted some plastic .. the amp is an interfire 2ch from 2003
-
pics of ? the fuse block or how i have it wired? its the right gauge for the amp .. idk y it is happening now its ran fine for 2 years
-
today i notice smoke from my fuse block and the one out going wire to my sub amp was super hot (melted part of the fuse block )... its a rockford fosgate fuse block. i have efx 4ga wire going in and 2 4ga wire coming out ... one goes to my 4ch amp (never have problems there ) and the other to my sub amp (always having problems there) .. so the question is what could be causing this ? never had this problem b4

i know im not steve but i know he very rarely checks this section. so i figured id help
lol ... yeah u did and thanks ...

ill answer these for him
pick the roundover that gives you the look you want. my suggestion is to find a piece of scrap and hit a side iwth the roundover. mark that side with the marker and then go to another edge and do it again. then do it again with another size. That way you can always have a visual and match it to the look you want.
prior to torres we used PAP pen and paper. with a touch of winisd or bassbox pro if we could afford it.
all super glue can be hit with an activator to dry faster. check your local hobby store my man.
well thanks for the help ..

that is one clean box .. just a question or 2 .. what round off bit did u use ? ( 1/4" 1/2" 3/4" ) .. i know there is a program on that helps with box building but b4 that how did u figure out the port size and its frequency? any advice on building a box that big?
last question .. in one of ur old videos u used a 2 part super glue with a stay activator ..where can i get that ?
-
well i did some work today ... i finished one of the ports .. it was a pain but i got it done ... one more and i can start the box .. with out delay here are today's pics

take it real slow with the jig saw. I you still have issues, cut a bit smaller on purpose then sand the rest to get it straight. Or just get some clamps and clamp some scrap wood to make a straight line jig for your saw.some teaser pics
the port idea
the port .. my skills with a jig saw suck so i may redo it
the car all this is going in this is an old pic
if anyone has any advise on how i can get a better cut on the inner port area would be greatly appreciated
lol thought i was going slow that was an hour or so of work ... for nothing but good practice lol
-
well i thank u all for the help and good advice ... my best chance is to brace and cut ... now that i have the right measurements for the port ( lol ) the next one will be perfect ... i cant wait to try some of these tricks
-
i need some advice on how to cut a straight inner port cut ... it will be square but i just used a jig went slow but looks like shit ..
heres a pic
you can see here the inner walls are all sloppy .. this port is a throw away its the wrong size lol oops
jigsaw skills bro! some people just dont have em
lol damn i thought if i bought a nice jig saw it would be easier lol
-
try a circular saw?
how would that work on the inside when it is a small hole ?
Take your time, or clamp a straight edge to the board to act as a fence.
i think i may have to do that .. i do it for that big cuts ... would a router work ?

lol well that port was just practice .. i thought that i had it memorized but i was way off so that there port is going into the trash .. witch is fine i didnt like the inner cuts i did
the port should be 10x10x7.5 and i went 8x10 oops ... the other one will be 10x14x 4.5 thats the 40hz

Just be prepared to be able to power the hcca if you decide on it, the 2k rms is a joke, it'll just laugh at you.
what about the bc3500.1 ? i think that if i go with the higher end subs ill get the bigger amp .. the bc2000.1 would be for subs with 1500 watt or less rms
-
Iv had the xxx from re and the hcca the hcca hit the highs better
so would the hcca be better for all types of music ?
-
i have finely started my new box build for 4-15's idk witch ones yet .the box will be 12 + cuft with 2 removable ports. 1 tuned to 32hz and the other tuned to 40hz. . this will not be done in a week or 2 .. i will take my time with it .. im in no hurry .. lol i haven't even made up my mind on the sub ..
im looking at
fosgate
power t2
power t1
power t0
orion
hcca

i am really considering the hcca cause i can get them for 500 dollars each .. but i want something more affordable .. the subs will be powered by 2 bc2000.1 or bc3500.1 depending on what sub i go with ..
the camera is charging so pics up in about an hour ... right i have to get back to it ...
-
2 12's would be real nice .. 2 15's and u are looking at least 6cuft ... the 12's 4cuft .. if u really want a 15 then just one ... plus 2 12's will be louder then 2 10's and one 15"
-
im in the market for a cpu .. i was on the costco website and they had a really nice one by zt for 800 .. 16gb memory 2tb hard drive i7-3770 ..
just wanted to know if zt is good brand and if this sit up was worth the money ???
-
im looking at the RE audio xxx components... im putting those up agents 2 XXX 15's
-
if the subs are rated at a 1000 watts then maybe a 1500 watt rms amp to each would be nice .. for the mids and hi's to each is own ..there are so many good ones out there .. fosgate go for about $250 a set ..
-
get a 2nd rf t2500 and u will be good .. i too am looking at the same sub .. i plan one doing 2 of them to one 5000 watt amp ... sonic elertonix has them for around $550
plus i was told that they are good for sq too .. i have an articular on the 12" and it was said to be near perfect bass ... plus i think the web site said that the box should be around 4 cbft per woofer ..

thats the thing nothing has changed .. the sub runs at 2ohms like always .. but i know with just the sub amp line i had the problems .. if i turn up the sub through the head unit i would pop the fuse ... but lately it wouldn't pop get get really hot and smoke .. maybe i should just run another line just for the sub ... or its the amp idk ...
