  1. I need to figure out whats going on. If the fuse holder melts would that cause a sub to blow? I think I am going to replace all my wiring for my amp and subs. And replace my blow sub............
  2. I was using a eighty amp fuse in my holder but there are 3 30 amps fuses on the amp = 90....can 10 less amps completely melt a fuse holder to a wire??? It was tightened very strong, I could not pull it off or tug the wire from it. I pushed down on both subs, they both pushed without a problem. And the voicecoils are still copper!!! But the blown one is out of phase and smokes. It was really hot when it came out of the box but my other woofer is fine. They are both on the same circuit is that possible to blow one and not the other?
  3. Four gauge for amp power and ground, and like 14 gauge for my sub wiring...

  5. Ok guys I have had a horrible day with my audio. I have 2 inch Alpine Type R's wired to one ohm and a sundown saz-1000d amp. But today I was bumping for a short time for a parts run. I noticed my bass was not pounding like normal, I have had a problem with my box sliding around. Once my wires came out of my box while i made a hard turn, I fixed it asap. That was a few weeks ago and i havent had that problem sinc. But after I made my parts run I decided to check out my box to see whats up. I left the music on a high volume and as soon as I opened my trunk I smelled burning and looked at my subs to see one out of phase and blown. When I got home I checked over everything,my wiring the same no change everything connected good. Then I cut my car off then went isinde, then came back to turn it back on...my amp would not turn on. I checked the rcas and all 3 fuses and it was all fine. Then I opened the hood to check my inline fuse, my fuse holder itself. My fuse holder began to melt itselff to my power wire on both ends!! The fuse inside was not blown but the fuseholder and wrie began to melt together. I switched to a different fuse holder same type and fuse and my amp worked. So I have a fucked up unusable fuse holder and a blown sub. I am more worried as to why the holder melted, anyone have any insight or advice??? i edit: I took my subs out of the box when i got home. The voicecoils in both subs are still shiny as hell. But the one that I think is blow is hot to the touch and stinks, But both look fine...
  6. They are on deck power....they get pretty loud and I'm very satisfied with them. But considering I have never heard smaller speakers amped might change things lol.
  7. Thanks man, I'm hoping the sundownXalpine combo works wonders. Obviously I have future plans but for now its wait patiently until I get my amp back.
  8. ......IDK I like Alpine always heard great shit and i decided to go with them and glad i made the choice..even though I've only heard the 6x9s and used my deck lol. I'm happy and can't wait to get my amp back from sundown...
  9. Sup SMDF, I guess this is somewhat of an intro about myself. The name is Mike, car audio noob and kottonmouth kings fan. I just started getting into car audio and shit so forgive me if i am droning. But here is my freshly made youtube channel showing all my shit that I'm learning about car audio and my ride. I am sort of self teaching myself so bear with me. But my ride is a 1995 Honda Accord EX, 1 of five cars I've had. Mommy and daddy don;t payt for shit so don't worry. But heres the shit for my audio and my youtube channel which i update alot with unboxing vids and after install vids..being self taught I still make mistakes and shit takes longer than usual so I won't do during instal vids. But anyway My install 2 Alpine Type-R SWD-1242s wired at 1 ohm Premade ported box from Audio shop 1 Sundown saz1000d for subs 2 Alpine Type-R 6x9s in rear deck Alpine CDA-9886 HU with 8gig ipod nano 4 Alpine 6 3/4 Type R doors Speakers (not installed yet) and other shit. Not bad for a 18 year old who is buying and doing everything himself right? Sorry if its alot to read heres my channel. I haven't updated lately because I had to send amp back and didnt even get to work subs . Jacob should be shipping it back in a few days..magicaly blown fuses FTW!! sorry for the long post. http://www.youtube.com/user/SRHBassHead69 heres channel, mods tell me if I am breaking any rules lol...
