  1. Can you just shrink the volume of the box with 2x4's or something? May raise your tuning though.

yeah i thought about that but i like my 32hz tuning, i listen to mostly decaf, and other low music, so a low tune is needed.

well do you have access to the full length of the port? If so, narrow it a little (1/8th" mdf) to compensate for the lesser volume.

hmm i could do that also, but i may just make another box, i want to make it a bit shorter so its under my window line anyway, also would be nice to try flush mounting the sub (never tried it before)

  2. ok so about a year ago i bought a BTL N2 18 fully loaded d2, and i knew i would be running off an AQ1200D for quite a while (still am actually) so with that in mind i built the box on the big side of the spectrum... its about 8 cubes after all displacements tuned to 32hz. my question is if i step up to something like a crescendo bc3500 will that be too much power for that size box? or would i still be alright?

and yes i have the electrical to run that power, or more if i wanted (figured i would add that as it seems like thats the first that people ask when they see people running bigger amps)

    anyway, thanks guys!

  3. i was thinking maybe these

    http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321426588&sr=8-1

never seen or heard them but they have an average rating of 5 stars out of 331 customer reviews lol

so i think that might be decent

i personally own and use them exact headphones on a daily basis, i bought them a year ago and love them.. when i bought them they were only 99 bucks, but i wouldnt mind paying the new price either, they are that good, and will give you the bass your looking for.

  4. ok i plan on using a http://www.kinetikpower.com/2009/product.asp?P=KIPS12-80&C=2 the kinetic 80amp power supply and a small kinetic battery to run a 4 channel amp in my room, i probably gonna be a mb quart dsc4125 cause i have an extra one laying around, but my question is instead of using a head unit, can i just use a ipod using a 3.5mm to rca adapter? or would the sound quality be bad enough to not do it that way.

  5. Separated by ZIP, with Decaf as the Artist, on my iPad.

This iPad is the best money I've spent since my laptop.

Having spent quite some time trying to muddle through organizing music on flash drives for car audio, I finally gave up and started using my phone. Then I got my iPad and started using that.

Honestly, I'll never go back to using a USB port unless its for a quick testing of a song/the couple demo songs I keep for easy access.

hmm never thought of that, just labeling them all as decaf for the artist and then album put what zip its from, that could work. thanks man, i knew if i got enough people to post i would find a solution that i liked :)

is your ipad in the dash? if not how do you have it easily accessible?

  6. so i downloaded all 24 of decafs zips and put them all on my 16 gig pen drive that is now dedicated just for his music. and ive been driving around for a week, and im at around track 250 or so.. then i remember a track i liked around 90 so i had to scroll all the way back to 90 to listen to that then go all the way back to 250. bacially what im asking is how do you guys do it? there must be a better/easier way to organize his music. i have a alpine cde-123 head unit if that helps

basically i just want to know how you guys have his music sorted/seperated or how you play it, wether its ipod, cd's (not likely) or pen drive.

    thanks guys!

  7. On a side note, our roofs are strong as hell ha Curt? I've had all kinds of door flex, window flex and the like, but my roof never moves at all lol...

haha yeah its true, the roof itself is really solid, but the doors are another story, and dont even get me started on the back wall lol, there is no amount of sound deading i could put on that to stop the flex.

I know for sure its the dome light though, and not the metal crossmembers, because all i have to do is push up on the dome light with one finger and it stops vibrating and i can tell the sound is coming directly from the dome light.

on a side note, how much of a pain is it to take out the headliners in a dodge dakota? ive never taken one out in any vehicle, but it just seems like its a real pain just thinking about it, well not the taking it out part, but the puting it back in part.

  8. one thing you should keep in mind though,is on my 2002, and even on my 2005, the speakers only have 3 mounting holes, so all i did was make a MDF ring that screwed into the door using those 3 holes, then drilled 4 holes on the MDF ring for my new speakers.

on a side note, i love how porksoda, supercharged DCs, louisiana bass and I always seem to reply to anything that has to do with dakotas lol

  9. well if you have a brake line flare tool, the brake lines are really cheap, i mean were talking like 3-4 dollar for a 3 or 4 foot piece, and then the fittings are another couple dollars, so if you have the tool, or access to one, it could be a 10 dollar fix and maybe 30 minutes if you've never done it before, its pretty simple actually.

  10. what about the crescendo audio 3000rms are those good or are the audioque better?

as far as i know they are basically the same board, but dont quote me on that, im not all too familiar with crescendo amps, but from what ive heard, they are on par with each other.

  11. ^^ what he said, you cant go wrong with the AQ1200D, ive ran one for the past year and a half, and have zero complains, its a good solid amp that puts out rated, or a little more then rated power. its VERY hard to beat for the price to quality ratio
