Box too big for this much power?
curtdakota replied to curtdakota's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
yeah i thought about that but i like my 32hz tuning, i listen to mostly decaf, and other low music, so a low tune is needed. well do you have access to the full length of the port? If so, narrow it a little (1/8th" mdf) to compensate for the lesser volume. hmm i could do that also, but i may just make another box, i want to make it a bit shorter so its under my window line anyway, also would be nice to try flush mounting the sub (never tried it before) -

hmm thats what i thought, so im now in a predicament, would i get better results if i made a smaller box for the 3500 watts? or keep the big box and run lower power? like in the 2500 range. -
ok so about a year ago i bought a BTL N2 18 fully loaded d2, and i knew i would be running off an AQ1200D for quite a while (still am actually) so with that in mind i built the box on the big side of the spectrum... its about 8 cubes after all displacements tuned to 32hz. my question is if i step up to something like a crescendo bc3500 will that be too much power for that size box? or would i still be alright? and yes i have the electrical to run that power, or more if i wanted (figured i would add that as it seems like thats the first that people ask when they see people running bigger amps) anyway, thanks guys!

i personally own and use them exact headphones on a daily basis, i bought them a year ago and love them.. when i bought them they were only 99 bucks, but i wouldnt mind paying the new price either, they are that good, and will give you the bass your looking for.

using ipod instead of head unit
curtdakota replied to curtdakota's topic in Pro Audio / Home Audio / Home Theatre
sweet guys, answered my question, i just wanted a cheaper way of doing it rather then buying a head unit, its cheaper to use an ipod i already have. and besides, considering im considering this option in the first place, im not really needing super SQ here, i just want to be able to have a loud, bass heavy setup for my room, utilizing most of the stuff i already have. -
ok i plan on using a http://www.kinetikpower.com/2009/product.asp?P=KIPS12-80&C=2 the kinetic 80amp power supply and a small kinetic battery to run a 4 channel amp in my room, i probably gonna be a mb quart dsc4125 cause i have an extra one laying around, but my question is instead of using a head unit, can i just use a ipod using a 3.5mm to rca adapter? or would the sound quality be bad enough to not do it that way.

so i downloaded all 24 of decafs zips and put them all on my 16 gig pen drive that is now dedicated just for his music. and ive been driving around for a week, and im at around track 250 or so.. then i remember a track i liked around 90 so i had to scroll all the way back to 90 to listen to that then go all the way back to 250. bacially what im asking is how do you guys do it? there must be a better/easier way to organize his music. i have a alpine cde-123 head unit if that helps basically i just want to know how you guys have his music sorted/seperated or how you play it, wether its ipod, cd's (not likely) or pen drive. thanks guys!
