  1. The port is how the subs breathe, correct? Just making sure if I'm on the same page or not. And if it is, that means the bigger it is (length or width), the lower the tune is?
  2. Will do. I've been reading build logs, but it's just so confusing on what they say. Like, they say so much that I don't understand, it's at a point where I'm reading words from like a different language. I'll keep trying tho.
  3. Yeah. We'll, time to follow your footsteps, and take my share of time here too and read as much as I can. I'll probably be getting to the ACTUAL box building in 6 months or so. So, might as well absorb as much as I can. Now, time to read about that tuning calc. thingie. Haha. Anybody else have any advice? Greatly Appreciated.
  4. Well, at least your not as new as me. Does MDF stand for Medium density fiberboard? Or did I just totally get a wrong ass definition from Google. Hehe. And I'll for sure check out that thread. Thanks for the advice and everything.
  5. Hello there! Well... I was just wondering on how to build a box. People say its easy once you know how too, but I completely have no idea. I'm not building one soon, but I will eventually. That's why I want to get a little head start on how to build it so I have time to research and such. So here it goes. I'm going to have 2 Sundown Audio SA-12's D4 running off an AQ2200D. I would like the box tuned to 32-33hz. Can anybody give me some BASIC information on how to tune a box? Or like, ANY kind of INFORMATION at all actually on box building in general. I was just going to get the dimensions and everything from you guys on this forum and take it to an audio place and have them build it, but I think I want to take the challenge to build my own. For example, a few things I wouldn't mind learning would be: How to tune a box? Is there a certain kind of wood to use? How thick should the wood be? And a bunch more, but those are more detailed ones. I just want to learn the BASICS of box building. Thank you.
  6. Well, I don't want anything to exotic. I was just asking. Do you recommend any good rims for Honda Civics? 06?
  7. Hey, I was looking through CL and I came across this Civic. Anybody know what Rims these are? It just said 17" aftermarket rims. http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu355/JinsTa23/HondaCivicRims2.jpg http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu355/JinsTa23/HondaCivicRims.jpg
  8. I appreciate the feedback, really do. Don't worry, not an asshole move. It's just, he has a rough life. Both of his parents passed, and he lives with his sister who's only 17. So.. He doesn't have money for school, so he passes time this way. That's just a little background. Thanks for the feedback.
  9. Feedback anyone? You guys might like him! He needs as much feedback as possible.!
  10. damn i like it. any mixtapes or anything out i can download? i could barley hear him in that video. i had to turn my sub off on my cpu just to hear him lol Will come out soon. Hoping by the end of the month. Showing love on the video and spreading the vid around would mean so much to him. Thanks.
  11. Listen to it and you might like it. It's kind of like Immortal Technique or something like that.
  12. When he said that, he says that because he was arrested and locked up "back in the day". Not meaning anything about the old ways.
  13. What's up guys! I have a friend in highschool who's trying to pursue his dream. Hes only 15 so he would love feedback. Here he is:
  14. Yeah I noticed that too. Thank god. Just wondering, say I have an 80 volt alt. Or whatever they call it. Like Watts, Volts, whatever it is for an alt. Say its 80. And the 2 Sundown Audio SA-12's with the AQ1200D. What do you think my voltage drop would be? you really do have a lot to learn. the aq1200d amp can pull 120 amps. but will only do so while it's playing notes. Your alternator may do 13.8 - 14.4 volts anywhere between 80 and 120 amps depending on your car. the car itself needs some of that power to run. so say you got 40 to 80 amps left over to use. your battery will hold a small amount of this higher voltage charge before it resorts to drawing from it's reserves. you outpull your alternator (like you will do) you'll drop to the 12 volt range (which is what your battery rests at comfortably) you outpull your battery (like you will NOT do with that amp and a half way decent under hood battery) and your voltage will drop under 12s. Either way, you will notice a dimming of the lights with regular halogen lights. Never Said I didn't have alot to read . Only way I'll learn is by asking questions, reading the answers, or doing it myself. And yeah I know what you mean. My friend's car drops to like high 11's and low 12's with 2 15's running 2k watts on stock. He has dim lights and such and such. I'll get a back up battery in there eventually, so. hopefully that solves MOST of the issues.

And the 2 Sundown Audio SA-12's with the AQ1200D. What do you think my voltage drop would be? Alternators are measured in amps. Or amperage. Just to give you a general idea, I was running an AQ1200 off my stock 8O amp alt, stock batt, and big 3 in 1/0, I dropped to 13 volts at idle. And mauiwowie, lolumad. Yeah. 13 Volts isn't bad right? I know like 11 is.. And 9 is when your car like explodes.. (Not literally, it just dies). 13 Should satisfie me I think.

  17. Did anyone else notice this? Why the hell are you telling him the AQ can run .5 daily? He clearly stated he has a budget, and in order to run ANY amp at .5 ohm daily, you've got to have a beefy electrical. This is another example of noobs giving noobs dumbass advice. OP, yes AQ will give you cleaner power, but PLEASE, don't listen to the post stated above. At your experience, I wouldn't run any amp at .5 ohm. Not being a dick, just giving you precious advice. I'd say his telling the op that the aq can do .5 daily is a testament to the quality and durability of the amp, not a recommendation to op of how to use them. OP: the aq is an under rated amp that can easily do over 1400 wrms. the AP is an over rated amp that needs 14.5 volts to get close to it's 1500 wrms rating. You can't really go wrong either way, i just hope you understand WHAT you are buying before you buy it. Well by the looks of it, I'm going with the AQ. People tell me its better, so in my mind now, its better. If I'm building a system, might as well build it right first good frame of mind going into a build

  20. Of course I'll listen to Kranny. If I'm going to listen to anybody, its Kranny and TeamHT.

Beat you to it I posted it before saying 1 ohm. Dang, I'm sucha noob but I'm LEARNING .

To be 100% honest, I was going to run it at 1 ohm? I think? I hope so? Thats what people tell me to do. LOL. Thanks for correcting the misunderstanding.
  23. To ThatMauiWowie: Yeah of course, I need to do the big 3. I would be ashamed if I didn't. Haha
