  1. If the reviews are bad, i wouldnt do it but its all up to you. You could always try it and if it doesent work out just remove and get the proper dash kit.

True. I'll probably try it out and see how it works just because it was free. I'm still wondering what's the point of keeping your stock radio after you installed a new one though.. It just doesn't hit me on why people would do this. But I'll for sure try the free one we got.

  2. Whats up guys. My friend and I have an 05 Honda accord and trying to install a Kenwood KDC-248U my friend has. We bought it off sonicelectronix, and they sent us free wiring + new dash kit for aftermarket HU. We were wondering, do we need to use the free dash kit we got in order to install the HU? Or noo....? Because the dash kit has bad reviews and if I don't need to use it, I'm going to stay away from it. Here's a picture of our stock dash:

I want to replace the old radio with my new one. I do not want it to be like this b/c I don't see the point in it besides loosing a big pocket:

Or is pretty much this the only way because most 7th gen honda accords on google are like this. Is there any point of keeping the stock radio dash after installing an aftermarket HU besides telling the time? Now that I think of it, I might just put it in the lower section for now and eventually get a replacement adapter something like this:

    Any suggestions or ideas.

  3. What's your budget for amp, speakers and a head unit? If you are replacing your by 9's in the back I would replace all the speakers from now. What sub model accord do you have? (Ie LX EX etc)

2005 honda accord lx sedan. 2.4L manual transmission. replace back 6x9 in the rear dash and i have only 2 front speakers 5 1/4 i think. Budget.. 150-200 for HU + rear speakers only. going to get front speakers + amp for them next purcahse.

What features do you need your HU to include? As for by 9's look for a pair of front speakers and then once you pick a brand go with their 6x9's as well. I would do a set of 6.5's up front and in the rear doors and honestly just remove the 6x9's all together. You wont lose much if anything in the way of sound and since youre running AQ you could always run their speakers as well.

This is for a friends build so he doesn't have the AQ. haha just the same car but stick. the headunit must just be a decent headunit that can work with an AUX, USB,CD, FM / AM, etc. nothing major. Just the basics. And he doesnt have back speakers. only 2 6x9 in rear dash by rear windshield, and 2 5 1/4's in the front on driver and passenger door. no more speakers unless I cut a hole.

  5. Would it be a bad idea to buy a sony CDK-GT56UI and go to a stereo shop and have them install it for me? I watched a video on youtube on how to remove everything, but it seems to hard for somebody who has never taken a headunit out before. Is there a way they can mess up?

  6. I just have them on the H/u power, I would look into an MB quart 4 chan. They sound pretty damn good just for the H/U power

Well i need to get a headunit also but I have no idea what to get for a 05 Honda dashboard. It's weird. i can take a picture of it and post it up but that's only if you have time haha

  7. Is it difficult to drive stick while bumping music? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's not HARD but is it difficult to get used too? My first car is a 05 honda accord stick and I'm just going to put a single sa-12 with an aq1200d in it, and I was just wondering how it's like. I know with manual, you have to listen to your engine to know when to shift, so I mean, would bumping affect that? Just want to hear how people get used to it. That's all.

  8. Get a basic viper or similar dei alarm. All you really need is an alarm with starter kill. If someone does have the other key that wants to get your car they will be able to get in but as long as you've armed the vehicle with the aftermarket alarm, the alarm will sound. They will still be able to get in but can't drive off with it

Exactly this. I need to find an alarm that even with a key to the car, you won't be able to start the car and drive off unless you activate it with a remote from the alarm. Any suggestions?

  9. What's up guys.

So my dad just bought a car from a dealership and everything is ours. It was a used car and it only had 1 real key with the buttons and then an extra key just by itself. Usually, when you first buy the car, you are given 2 real keys with buttons and then that 1 extra key by itself. We are looking for a separate alarm with a remote to put on the car, so where if you still have the key, the alarm prevents from anybody to start the ignition unless its enabled by the separate alarm / remote.

If anybody knows any good alarms that can fit this description, please leave a name or link.

    Budget: $300 and less

    Thank you.
