  1. i just got 2 12 alpine type s and had them in for a week with low gains and turned the gain up a little more monday and they ran great then tuesday on the way home the subs just cut off and when i checked only one was blow(coil scraping) and the other was just fine and i couldnt figure it out but i remember something when i tookthe blown sub out. if the wire from the ground terminal comin from the non blown becomes disconnected from the blown sub would that make more power run to the blown sub causin it to blow
  2. would it be safe to run 600 rms total subs off the 1000 rms amp because i called the company and they said the subs are actually rated at 300 even when they advertise them at 400 and said it was my fault that that happened because i was running 1000 watts all the time
  3. the only reason i ask is kuz i actually did run 2 earthquake sound tnt 12s(400 each) off of my kicker zx1000.1 and didnt hav the gains up more that 1/8 of a turn and the cone separated from the suspension on both and its made me wonder if it was the company kuz it just didnt make sense to me
  4. Is it possible to run 2 4 ohm svc subs separately to a mono block amp to keep them a 4 ohms(have the 2 positive wires just connect at the amp instead of have one run to one terminal of one sub to the other sub .etc)
  5. cone doesnt scrape when pushed and subs ran great for almost 3 years at the same gain. also another thing that I dont kno if it matters but the subs were run in a box with not enough cubic ft
  6. ok dont kno if this changes anything but I went and test connections a couple more times and the ohms kept changing some times the subs read 13 ohms and some times 5
  7. i took a look at the speaker wires to the subs and found that one sub was running at 8-10 ohms and the other at 2. And I tried to figure out the growling noise and noticed that the subs will pulse once very slowly if it got a signal from the head unit(turned the key on fast and turned it on and nothing happened) and it sounds more like a scrapping sound.
  8. Checked all the connections earlier and it worked this morning after driving for 5-10 min but when i drove earlier tonight it didnt work to or from the place I went to which is about 20 min away.
  9. I have 2 kicker comp 12s that run off a kicker zx750.1 and they all of the sudden dont want to play hardly at all. Some times they will hit once when I turn my car on or off. And it seems as if the subs are not workin when I turn the car off the sub will "growl" after about 10-20 sec.
  10. Yea when I went to cut the speaker wire I forgot that I was going to need a little more wire to get to the terminals and had just enough if i had them upside down
