So would a stinger hpm 1/0 power kit be better for say around 2000rms?
Sorry for the double post can figure out how to delete it . So for my four channel the fuse ratings are 2x30 and my mono is 5x30 so that would put me under 250. Or am i wrong on how to figure that out?
Edit: i guess bassfiend confirmed that, Thank you! So i should be fine with cca power wire?

Only drawback I personally know of is less current flow. Oxygen Free Copper can handle more current (350A or so) than CCA (300A). But it's also cheaper (CCA) and depending on the price you can get it, it MAY be cheaper to do 2 runs of CCA than 1 run of OFC. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in though.
Edit-OK so maybe CCA isn't good for 300 lol (see post above)

What are the draw backs of copper clad aluminum?

ok so here is my plan as i posted originally i am going to be running somewhere around 2000rms. (I think). So i will be doing big 3 with 1/0, I will have a run of 1/0 20 feet. From there i will be hooked up to a hc800, then 1/0 to the mono and 4awg to the 4 channel. Will this work fine with a stock battery up front and a stock 140 amp alt? And for grounding everything can i get away with running the grounds from the amps to the hc800 then to the frame from there with 1/0?
-
I will probably just go with knu konceptz wire since everyone seems to be please with their products. And without replacing the factory batter could i run a kinetiks hc800 and the big 3 without issue?

I haven't really compared streetwires to any other 1/0 and i haven't opened the package but it seems like some fairly thick stuff. I might just get knukonceptz and craigslist the streetwires. Will something like this work fine? My link

I am going to be running a Sundown SAE1200d at 1 ohm along with a jl 4 channel which is only going to be around 300rms. So i am thinking possibly around 2000 rms. Right now i have stock wiring with a 140 amp alt and stock battery. So as it stands i am going to do the big 3 with 1/0 along with a run of 1/0 to the sundown amp and then a run of 4awg to the four channel. And i will be putting in a deka battery up front in the next few months. Will this be adequate for this setup? Will i be fine running streetwires 1/0 that i bought to the sundown? I know that streetwires is not the best quality so should i scrap that and go with knukonceptz 1/0 and 4awg to both amps?
The help would be appreciated!

id go wit the 1 ohm those amps are beastly an the subs are awesome they can take that amp all day if u set ur gains right
Should the gain be set at 1/2, 1/4? Somewhere in between. I guess my questions would be what is safe to set it at?
-
It will work fine, the SAE 1200 is stable at 1ohm.
Ok an the subs will handle the power just fine?
-
Go with 2 D4s so you can wire to 1ohm.
How will the amp and subs hold up over time at 1 ohm?
-
Two SA-12 D2 and SAE 1200D..... 2omh
Ok we got one person for 2ohm how about someone for 1ohm
-
Sorry should have clarified its the sundown sae1200d
-
I have already purchased a 1200 D and i was wondering what would be better for an everyday system for 2 sa-12's (d4) at 1ohm (d2) at 2ohm's? The reason being is i have heard different things such as it puts to much strain on the amplifier and subs, or it will work fine? So if someone could clear the air it would be greatly appreciated!

That's too much port area for my personal likings but other ppl will tell you different.
If you wouldnt mind could you give me an idea of what i would need in terms of dimension. or give me some numbers to go off of to enter into the enclosure designer. I would be greatly appreciated!

35hz for everyday music. Tuning any lower is virtually pointless IMO.
Alright so using Re Enclosure Calculator i got
Box Volume-3.392
Square Port Area-66
Tuning Frequency-35.1307521670623
How does that look? Any Changes necessary?
-
That design is very similar to what I have now, but I wouldn't tune it any higher
So you would stay around 3.2 cubes and 30hz?
-
Ha alright since i got a few different answers could you tell me what the pros and cons are for each one? I emailed Jacob at sundown and he told me optimal was 3.0-3.5 at 35hz, i was just trying to get different opinions even though im sure the guys at sundown have their stuff together.
Would it be possible to use these plans but modify it to get a higher tuning frequencySSA Box

NOOB here with some questions! I am going to be doing 2 sa-12's (D4) on a 1200d at 1ohm, what is the best amount Air space and tuning frequency? I was told 3.0-3.5 at 35hz, but what is the most popular setup for a balanced set sq and spl?
Here is a box i designed
Off of Re Audio-
Port area-72
Box Volume 3.597
Tuning Frequency-34.2317739161803
Copper clad Aluminum
