Ray, can you explain to a noob the sq. in. deal on a vent? I understand cu. in. for my box. My vent currently is 4" wide x 30" long x 13" deep. Where does the sq. in . figure come from?

I have 4 Kicker Comp VR's. It's in a '96 two door Tahoe. Right now I have @ 12.5 cu. box with a vent @ 4" x 30" x 8" firing up on driver's side. I'm doing a consistant 147dB. Thanks for any and all advice.

Just wondering how to properly calculate the area(length/width/depth) of a vent for max spl. I'm tired of guessing. Please, somebody help.
