just to throw in my 2 cents, last year i've been quoted 300 just to install this stuff in the trunk alone and 1400 for the entire car, its a total rip off when you can spend time doing it yourself and save tons of money

hey i have 2 15'2 in a ported box now vs. the old sealed box and i havnt noticed much difference in rock.
ehhhhh what kind of subs and amp are you currently running sir??
-
A 4th order will give him the best of both.
If hes cramped on space then do 3.5 cuft with 11 sqin per tuned to 34
Thanks for your input Ray, I'm definitely gonna listen to a Mastermind like you...
4th order, how much seal and how much ported would you recommend? if you don't mind me asking.. he's not cramped on space, just cramped on the damn height.. he wants to be able to pull the cargo liner over don't know why...
-
how much for the 3/0 without the fuse.. i'll have to get a 400 amp fuse
-
he has a suv, if its ported he's giving me limited space to build his box he wants it below the cargo liner cover.. so basically making it subs up port back
-
Just like the title says, i'm not a big fan of Rock music but have a guy who i'm building a box for. He wants a ported box, but not quite sure if this would be ideal for rock music. But would definitely like to get some pointers as to what would be a good fit for him.
Here's a run down of the equipment
2 - 12's audiobahns
700 watt audiobahn don't know the model of it yet... haven't seen it i'm getting the equipment in a few days to collect the dimensions of this amp.
if the choice is ported, what freq should the box be tuned for this type of music...

270 amp alts seem to have the most output at low idle
-
i got a AVH3200BT pioneer double din...that also does dvd
-
check out parts express
-
um no, just a disturbing little calculator to make them noobs think they can rock.. Termlab = real output = real numbers
-
email rusty if he can't answer the phone.. sometimes that will get his attention.. or just ask for ana, and get a recone for both subs
-
wow i'd like to see a zapco in my blazer.. ray, how much you want for that beast
-
well i'm not doing 100% coverage, that's why i waited a long time for this new product to come out.. i wanted to spread the product looking like tiles. i know it may or may not give me best results.. but with this being as solid as i could feel it.. its worth a try to see what effect it has.. when i do order it and install the product i will definitely give my input and review of it

got my sample in yesterday got the sample of damp pro, alpha damp and overkill pro. All i have to say is damn i'm impressed. Alpha seems to be lighter and thinner but yet stronger than Damp pro. The overkill liner, that had me amazed, I was the one asking you about this Jon, to protect the amps from vibrations... its definitely thick as hell and quite interesting, it blended in with the interior of my blazer.. i layed it on the floor. Couldn't tell it was there! Great stuff Jon
No problem Brett (correct? I have about a million names floating in my head right now).
Alpha Damp is slightly thinner than Damp Pro (20 mils or so) and weighs just a bit less, but the thicker foil does make a huge difference.
Yeah I love LLP. Great stuff and works amazingly.
LOL you guessed right on my name... yea its definitely lighter.. and the LLP i'm gonna have to order a good bundle of that stuff to take out alot of noise just from driving.. no system yet.. and i can hear my stock exhaust... but definitely ordering alpha damp first and spreading it out across the floor and sides.. dunno how to take the roof liner off.. (yea i'm too busy with work) What would you recommend for the roof as i already know there will be plenty of flex regardless what i put up there..

what kind of power are you going to be running for your subs... usually around 3.5 cubes after displacement should work just fine...
-
what if i paid mechman.com to give me a copy of the design and i'll build it. i have friends who either works or owns a machine/welding shop ????
-
lol, you think i gave bad info, when i recommended him to a set of different woofers bro, and don't be a jackass, read the whole thread again.. you'll see that i recommend him getting dc lvl 2 subs so he can have dual voice coils ( ya you didn't catch that didn't you) so chill out man.. and the box will not fit under the seat. This i already know.. he's gonna either have to lose his rear seats or build a custom box the way he wants it..

is this the BP MS 150 event or is this another event to benefit the MS patients?? I only ask this cause i know the ms 150 is held here in Texas.. anyways just wondering

stay away from power acoustik, here's a nice amp... http://www.amazon.com/AUDIOPIPE-AUDIO-AQX400-2-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00424RLW0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1314684612&sr=1-1 this amp would be a nice fit to 2 kenwood subs.. but if you want some really nice subs, get that amp and get some dc lvl 2's http://www.dcsoundlab.com/woofers.html
they will sound much better and last longer
best bet for your box is build one.. or i could build you one myself...
I can't find the prices for the lvl 2's. You know what they are?
email dwight or CJ18 and they can hook you up, or wait until the morning and call DC and ask for Rusty or Ana
