  1. Are you planning on porting the box or going sealed? If you are going to port the box why not port through the arm rest? I have my subs firing into my back seat and my back seats don't fold down, just left the top of the seat unlatched and i have my rear deck ported. listened to mine with the seat up and the seat out and honestly it's not that big of a difference in my case.

Good idea about using skipass area for a port. :drink40:

  2. no.. its not

What if you played music material like rock n roll and the bass was all in the higher spectrum, so you had the gain set lower and used the bass boost to raise the 45hz+ range?

    Would that be wrong?

most of the time, 90%-95% of the time, when you use bassboost it adds distortion.. which is bad... and if some one knowshow to set the gains and use the bassboost with out distortion they wouldnt be asking this question....

so its better to be safe and not use it at all...

Didn't know it added distortion, figured it was like another gain per say. And I somewhat replied just because you flat out said no you can't use it.

But I completely agree that if they ask, then they probably shouldn't be using it :drink40: Thanks

  3. honestly, look in the manual. it should say something like "sensitivity 87dB" im not sure what it means, but i think it means... chances are you wont score higher than that on termpro.

Standard format for measuring loudness using 1 watt for power and measuring output from 1 meter away.

And considering it's measured using a single watt, yes you should be able to get quite a bit louder then that.... :trippy:

  4. As said above, what model and whats your budget for electrical upgrades? It takes power to make power :drink40:

Do you know how much power your stock alt makes? Probably going to have to spend part of that money for batteries.

    i have no idea. i have a 2001 chevy s10 with a 4.3L v6

DC has two lower model alts for that.

    140idle 190max $270

    150idle 240max $350

Then a deka or xs batt for 150-250.

That would leave you with ~400-550 for ~2000watt amp. Not sure how much power you'll really need with those L7s though. Seems different model sizes have different rms.

  5. single cab non blow threw box 2.5 cubic feet 34hz

In that case, probably 141.2 at 36hz with the passenger window down and mic at driver headrest.

I play Lord of the rings and World of Warcraft, so I'm good with numbers.

    i don't... so I'm good with pussy.

i couldnt pass it up. :pardon:

How many cats you got running around your house? I bet it takes forever to feed'm all in the morning?

    I got 12. :clapping:

If I were you since your on a budget, I'd buy used. The only amps I've used are sundowns and they've never let me down.

Not saying you need sundown or it's shit, but they have proven to be good amps :)

  7. I'm pretty sure people are messing with you Burko...

Either way, the DC subs look beefy as hell

Nah man. I did 151.3 with my shallow mounts behind the seat of my single cab when I had it.

I had some kickers powered by a boss audio 5k.

    Damn thats loud.

Do you think those amps I posted are good? What size wiring should I use, 4gauge?
