  1. Sealed off firing fwd in my civic I lose 3-4dbs...

    With 2 sonic soundlab super sonic x 12's and a sundown saz3500' sealed off it'd barely do a 138,

subs and port back it'd do a mid 143...

Right now it's subs and port fwd not sealed off box all the way to the rear of the trunk as close to the trunk lid with 2 6" aero ports ....that way it'll do a 148...

Look at terry Brock's setup, I got my ideas from him

I've tried port back, port to the side, sealed off and it's loudest firing fwd unsealed off...granted every cars diff but there both civics

Thats crazy how much of a difference that made. Never even thought of that. On a quick side note are there any significant advantages to using areoports over a basic slot port? Is the elimination of port noise one part of it?

  2. Something doesn't sit right with me on that middle sub. I feel like the middle sub would act like its in a 6th order

yea looks like some kinda ghetto ass 4th order to me. yea again i am 200% un-knowledgeable bout anything past a good ported box lol

Your tuning wouldn't come out at 34hz, the port dimensions are all off.

figured it wouldnt be that easy hahaha

edit: ^^ good idea ill shoot him a pm

  3. With a depth of 28, you're most likely gonna have to build that inside the trunk or it's not gonna fit any way you try lol. Speaking from experience on that one! I would love to see this idea come into action though. And screw what DjCrush says :P make a 'cut to size' cardboard mock-up box and see if you can get it in and out.

i might just meet up with the guy i sold my 2 15s to so i can measure up the box they were in. i wanna say it was just about 6 cuft or so but i cant recall. super tight fit none the less lol

  4. Oh and don't use any cardboard, staples, or tape on this box lmao

I WILL USE ALL OF THE ABOVE DAMMIT!!! :peepwall:

LMAO naww i hear what your sayin. i can fit a solid ported box for two lvl 4s but i was just in the 'cone area= king' mentality and just trying to think of a way to squeeze em in. and of course this is a budget build so avoiding the upgrade to lvl 5s and redonkulous power amounts is present unfortunately :nea:

  5. I know a lot of people will toss out the idea but fuck it. I want to do as much as humanly possible while staying within the confines of my trunk. I have tossed the idea around about doing a ported enclosure for 3 12" s in the trunk and might have a breakthrough. If i really wanted to i can do a sealed enclosure but i want the extra output of the ported.

for three LVL4's does anyone think this even worth a try?

rough mockup with a drafting program and rough port length using torres. 25 sq.in. of port on each side ROUGHLY 4 in. long or so

pardon me im abit shwasted lol

edit. doubl;e baffle for the subs and tuning about 35hz. also top piece would cover the entire 36 x 28 square

  6. youd be better off getting a better amp anyway, just sayin :pardon:

From the pics every thing looks fine but you never know and like he said better off with a new amp

problem is I goot pay $600 towards school in the next two months, and $300 in tickets to pay in the next month too. That along with the usual monthly expenses and limited hours at work due to school means no money till summer :bull:<_<

once money starts flowing hoping for an aq2200, better wire, batt or two and 1 or2 more lvl4's

idk i can try to ghetto rig it so it wont move around as much i guess thats the best i can do on a budget for now lol

well quit driving like a women

    more like a maniac hahaha.

funny thing is about 6 months earlier same cop pulled me and my buddy over for "street racing" lol. we were just acting like idiots speeding and slaloming between the shoulder/lane/median. could have easily arrested us but chose to give us a few tickets instead and said next time i pull ur ass over im arresting you. this time i blew strait through a red on a right turn and was haulin around 90ish down the main road thru town. almost arrested me AGAIN (actually cuffed me and tossed me in the back for 30 min or so) but ended up just giving me a few tickets.

small town+ knowing all the cops from young age=winning :santa:

  8. Just wondering if anyone has wired a AQ 2200 down to .667Ω or lower? Ive seen/heard of the 3500 running at .5Ω so i was thinking that the 2200 should be able to handle that too... GRANTED you have the electrical to support it..

EDIT-- basically looking for an amp to put out around 3000 watts at either 1.5Ω or .667Ω. i know that the 2200 prolly wouldnt get to 3000... but its up there. would be running 3 LVL4 D1's. dont wanna sell the one i already have thats why the d1.

    thanks!

  9. hey everyone. ever since about a week or two ago i noticed my subs cutting in and out. thought it was a bad ground so fixed that up and realized it was the rca inputs. Running a oldddd bazooka amp that does 500watts @2ohms

I'm gonna go with 90% sure its the amp & not the rca cable.

RCA's are the nicest ones radio shack sells and its only about 4 months old. Bought the amp for $40 at a pawn shop lol

opened it up just now and it looks like the connections are good so im not sure what to do.

I know ive seen people splice in a female end of a scrap rca cable, just dont know how hard it would be do do that..

    Any suggestions?
