  1. I would have to sell my left nut for one of those lol. I got about 300$ to work with after i sell my subs. Now i could wait and have about 500$ to work with. How much do one of those run?
  2. Wouldn't the subs fight each other since they would pretty much be in a shared chamber?
  3. Would you happen to have the link or could you point me in the direction where it was posted?
  4. I have had sealed boxes and for the most part they were OK for everyday listening, I did have one in my old Geo with two Audiobahns that sounded pretty good. I do like bandpass boxes for some odd reason and slot ported always seem to sound good. I wish i had the money to build a few boxes and find what i like, but money is tight and my first try would be my last for a while, I would hate to invest 150$ into making a box and it sound like shit.
  5. Like an RT obcon prefab @ 38hz.. Now i called eclipse to get box specs and they only gave me sealed measurements, they don't recommend the subs in a ported box. Think it was 1.6 cubes per chamber for "boomy" bass.
  6. Any bass heads up in washington state with some banging systems? Would love to hear a system pushing 145+ db's would be awesome!
  7. Thinking about selling my two twelves and upgrading to one 15 or one 18. First off my 12's are eclipse 87121.8 @ 8 ohms 300 rms each. I have a R500-1 rockford fosgate amp. What should i buy that would put these two 12's to shame but my amp could power? does 500x1 @ 2 ohms. Looking to downsize since i will be commuting more so i need less weight in my ass end.
  8. Anyone got any vids of them playing some hardstyle on there systems? I remember setting off a car alarm a while ago listening to some showtek. Seemed to sound really good on my system.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rMIaMP-l0g I know im gonna get hated on but i don't have the money to run with the big dawgs, i enjoy bass and this is what i got for about 300$. Sorry about the video being so crappy.
  10. Yeah they in a RT obcon slot ported box, they distort pretty easy, and if i remember correctly I called eclipse and they said they recommend them to be in a sealed ( they gave me box size for sealed, but when i asked about ported they didn't have any recommendations. )
  11. I've heard JL's they always sounded good to me but i don't want to dump money on them if they aren't gonna be louder.
  12. I know someone selling two JL audio 12w0's, but personally i think my eclipse 87121.8s are better. What would you guys choose?
  13. Was thinking rockford fosgate but i couldn't find one that size, needs to be 320x240 if anyone has any maybe you can send them to my phone would be awesome.
  14. That just seems REALLY small for a sealed box, barely big enough for my subs. I want boomy bass but i also want it to be tight and not all sloppy sounding. I listen to everything, Heavy metal, rock, rap, R&B, Techno, just want it to sound clean when listening to everything, my box now sounds good with most rap and almost all techno, but sounds like crap with Rock and heavy metal, its a R/T obcon ported box.
  15. eclipse 87121.8 FS = 27hz Qts=0.43 DCR=7.2 VAS=1.95 Cuft Xmax (one way)=0.73" Continuous power handling=300w Music power handling=600w Thats the only info i can find on them.
  16. But how do i know what my sub takes up? how do i determine that, I don't have much info on the subs other then they need to be in a sealed enclosure at .6 cuft net.
  17. So i need to build a box that is .6 cuft per chamber NET. How would i determine what the gross volume is? How would i go about measuring the NET volume of a box. The Eclipse tech said that it needs to be .6ft loaded i believe. *EDIT* This is his email that he sent me. For these subs recommend is sealed enclosure for the sub is 0.6 cuft. each with the subwoofers loaded in the box so net you want it to 0.6 cuft. Ported not recommended.
  18. Automotive classes at the college im going to attend cover pretty much everything, Electrical, engine repair/maintenance, manual and automatic trans axle repair/maintenance all that good stuff.
  19. I hope they do internships and what not, if i get the chance ill definitely take them, Thanks for the info man.
  20. I'm pretty set on Information technology right now, but i also enjoy working on cars and would love to be a certified car audio installer. Not sure if the guy that owns the only car audio shop around here went to school, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask him.
