You have to shim out the voice coil... Also its wise to let the glue fully cure 24hours before even attempting to play the woofer, some glues will not fully dry right away. Even 5minute epoxy says allow to cure overnight or 24 hours.. yah i saw the 24hr thing on the directions so i just pushed down on it a little bit and immediatley noticed it. how do i shim the voice coil?

i just re-foamed my JL10 W3 d2's there the original ones and before i refoamed them they both worked fine but i did it this morning and let it dry and started messing with it a couple minutes ago and one of them i can hear the voice coil rubbing on and was wondering why it was doing that and if it was to late to fix it

yah when i was messin with mine earlier my port didnt seem to be putting out much air soo i mean i rolled the windows up except for the passenger one(left it open like 1") and held a towel up in the middle of the car and it just vibrated it yet

You need to sweep a LOT of air to do a hair trick. One part of the equasion is cone area x Xmax. The other part is tuning/port area/box volume. I don't see a lot of people doing hairtricks with single subs... where are you seeing this? links? yeah gimme a sec im sittin in my car on my laptop at home but im about to go up the street for a minute ill get some youtube links

so.. my sub just isnt big enough cause i have seen single sub systems that get some crazy hairtricks like even if its just enough to see

i keep seing like single 12's and 15's that are doing hair tricks and im running my obsidian audio 15 in a 3.3cf box and i dont get shit. i mean my whole car flexes and my windshield wipers bounce off my winshield constantly but hairtricks? nooppe anyone have any recomendtionns? or am i just after alost cause in my situation

im trying to find stuff to do to my celica to give it a little more get up and go. it is the 1.8l 7afe automatic. and one of the things i will eventually do is swap to a 5spd but for right now these are my plans header, staight pipe back cold air intake performance chip and thats about all i can think of doing. i have already thought about doing the head swap to the ge or gzz whatever it is and thats a little to much money right now other wise id hop right to it. so im just trying to find out what i can do to it that i dont have to blow a ton of money on but can still get some more Horsepower. and eventually after i swap the tranny im going to turbo it but that is still a while away cause there is some space isues.

LPF should be set between 80-100. As for your gain being under half that doesn't mean much. It could still be clipping, your head unit could be clipping, the song your listening to could be clipped, etc. Buy a DD-1 or a scope and find out when your HU starts to clip, then tune your amp to clip at the same time as the HU, and play only music you know isn't clipped like Decaf or BigPimpins stuff. lol thats funny i was listening to decaf when it happened, that'd be just my luck. but how can i be completely tell thats my subs blown?
