Well I am considering using those subs if anyone cant suggest anything better.
For the price of the subs, I think they seem alright.
And I know youve been here for years. Well they are dual 2 ohm subs so then I would be wiring them to 1 ohm.
-
well what are you trying to wire to? thats the most important part. and also how much you want to spend on said amplifier.
What do you mean, what ohm load?
It would all depend on the subs i choose, their coil configuration, and the amplifier minimum impedance
Agreed 4 SA-10s would slam on 2k RMS.
But, way out of budget lol Thats like $750 for just the subs.
I wish it was in my budget but its not right now.
I dont have a goal for numbers or anything, its just for a daily system
-
you could buy used, and get a lot more bang for your buck
Yup Ive tried that.
But I think 4 10" could be louder than the 2 12" or 1 15" that i can fit in my trunk.
my trunk is a terrible shape.
This is all I can fit:
1 15"
2 12"
4 10"
Ive tried 2 15" and 3 12".
Just not gonna fit lol

yeah my buddy has a AP 1500 and a small 4 channel with a 140amp alternator and 2 XS Power batteries (small ones) he still drops to about 12.8-13.2
Yea thats why I was hoping to get louder with 4 decent 10" subs on like 1600-1800 watts.
Just gonna make sure its a efficient amp that does rated power
-
audiopipe 1500 is about 175
then get some SA-12s 400
only thing about audiopipe amps is they use a lot of current so you'd have to have a good electrical
i've never heard vibe
yeah I had an audiopipe 1000 that i just sold, and the amp drew atleast 80+ amps.
I was looking for a more efficient amp, even if it was a little more expensive
-
I had (2) 12" subs on 1000 RMS and it just wasn't enough. So im planning on doing 4 10" subs hoping it will be louder than the 2 12"
Just sold the last pieces of my other system. Now wondering what you guys will think about this.
Keep in mind it's a trunk build, budget is only for the subs and amp.
$600 budget
(4) VIBE Audio Black Air 10 subs on 1600-1800 RMS and tuned to 34hz.
What do you guys think?

So if i wanna power 3 amps from my HU, I should buy a relay?
Or run them from my battery with a switch?
-
So can I use like a 12ga wire for remote and just split it to my 3 amps? Rather than running multiple remote wires
-
to be honest shouldnt see more then 5v i wana say because all it does in turn the amp on and off. just like your ipod cables dont send out more then a 5v output because dosnt take more then 5v to charge an ipod
Im only wondering because i want to use a thicker wire for my remote, and i know that voltage can only travel so far on a thick wire.
Like 1 volt couldnt travel 20ft on a 10gauge wire. Am i wrong?
I think its 12v but I could be wrong. I have my remote goin from my battery to a switch.
Cant you fry your amp that way? or would it just go into protect?
-
I mean the remote turn on wire coming from my headunit to my amplifier .. How many volts does that put out? Or mV
-
-
Does anyone know how much power the Headunit remote turn on wire puts out?
And how much power range Amplifiers accept for the turn on connection?
-
drop it !!!!
x3
Drop it
EDIT: We may need a poll for this one so you can keep track of suggestions This should get popular quick
-
I can't take a picture it requeres pulling everything out.
I do have a dmm. Ill have to test that next
-
where is your amplifier grounded right now?
Its grounded to bare metal in my trunk
-
But how would a bad ground make all my lights dim
-
There are no protection lights going on.
And when the amp cuts out, the interior accent lightsand headlights dim ALOT at the same time that's why I think its a voltage problem? Does anyone agree
-
Hey guys I got a question about my setup, I think its my voltage.
I have a temporary system right now.
(2) Audiopipe TSVR12 Dual 4ohm Subs
Audiopipe 1000watt Mini Series amp
When I wire my subs to 1ohm to my amplifier I get sound cutout from the Amp to the subs.
But when I have them wired in 4ohm they are fine. Is this bc my voltage is dropping so much?
-
Well im looking into running 3 RE REX12 on Kicker ZX1000.1 ..
They said after impedence rise, that i wont have to worry about over powering those subs ..
is this true?
-
I just dont understand what people mean when they say it ..
-
Its going in a trunk car, and i already have the box for triple 12s
-
Im basically am looking for Deep bass over SQ .. Because i have my Mids and High which will take care of that ..
Would you say that they are deep enough? Like i want Mirror shaking, roof flexing bass lol
-
Well thats alot of power to be giving those subs ..
Should I just go with something better? just to be safe?
-
What do you mean? I can blow them with half rated power? But if I double the rated power, they will do better?
So basically your suggesting that if i buy those subs, that i should just be careful with my Gain adjustment?
Budget system opinions?
