I dont understand how Impedance rise works ..
So i think those RE Subs are like 3.2ohm per coil, So when wiring 3 woofers, you wire them in series/parallel ..
Wouldn't i have an Impedance of 6.4 per woofer, then wired in parallel would give me 2.13ohm final impedance?
-
after impedance rise your amp will be making about 500w. so dont worry about over powering anything.
My amp was rated at 1275 @ 2 ohms ..
So even after impedance rise, how could i lose that much power?
So lets say i go with the REX12D4 .. I think that those are 3.2ohm per coil, right?
So what would my final impedance be?
-
Okay i know im throwing all sorts of questions out there, and annoying you guys, but right now the Pioneers are my choice ..
Also what about RE Audio SRX12? Those are just out of my Budget, and those are 300rms ..
Are those gonna have more excursion and get louder than the pioneers?
Im willing to spend the extra couple bucks if its worth it lol
Ill change my budget a bit lol
-
Im going with a sealed box ..
-
Yeah i understand that ..
Can you post a link to which Pioneers your suggesting?
There are like 5 differant Pioneer Champion series subs lol
-
ya go with the pioneers they sound good and will handle the power you have to give them plus they are in your price range (i personally would go with CVRs but u dont want them to each his own)
I like CVRs and they are amazing subs, but i dont like the look or design of them ..
The 2007 Ones are ugly, but the 2010 ones are nice ..
Its just the look of them that makes me not want them lol
-
Box specs are like 1.25 per chamber ..
I will consider the championships, I just want deep bass ..
Are the Hifonics subs any good? Cuz 3 of them for like $100 bucks seems like a nice deal, but I want deep bass, and hope they will take the power im giving them ..
My other decission was RE REX12D4 .. But those are only rated at 175rms, i would be giving them double the RMS ..
EDIT:
My Amp is rated at 1275rms @ 2 ohms, so i think at 2.67 ohms it should still be around 1k
-
Well i listen to my music at like 50% or 60% so is that considered loud?
I would have 3 of them wired to a Kicker ZX1000.1
The amp pushes 1275 @ 2 ohms
So it would be a 2.67 ohm load, and maybe be pushing like 1000 watts
-
Whats the max safe watts i can feed these subs?
I know their rated at 175, but i wanna nearly double that ..
Like would 325 watts each be okay?
-
Whats a DMM? Digital Multi Meter?
Yeah i have one, is that the way to test voltage?
Im running 3 Dual 4 ohm subs, in Series/Parallel so i have a 2.67 Ohm Load ..
What should my voltage be?
-
Well CVRs are 75 new ..
I just don't want them ..
Just saying I'm not that limited in options ..
Alot of subs are under 100, just need advice on ones that will actually take 350rms daily ..
What's wrong with the Fubar 12"?
Or does nobody have experience?
-
I'll consider them, they look nice ..
What about the Power Accoustik Fubar 12" subs?
They look really nice for the price, and thoughts on those?
-
Your sure?
I could get 3 of those for like $240 shipped ..
Would they perform better than Hifonics? Cuz i can get Hifonics for half the cost
-
at that price range dont count on it. cvrs type rs the hifonics hifis thats about it
Hifonic HiFi whats the most that someone can play through it?
I am gonna be pushing like 350rms into them ..
But if i have my gain down, and bass boost off, think it should work?
-
Not interested in CVRs .. Everyone has CVRs i want somethin differant
-
wow said that way wrong 300 for all or 300 for each lol sorry
Lol no problem ..
i wanna spend like $300 for all 3, maybe a little more .. Just need ideas
-
I need help choosing 3 subwoofers for a setup ..
I have a triple 12" enclosure, and I have a Kicker ZX1000 amp ..
I need 3 12" subwoofers that can handle 300-400 rms and they most likely need to be Dual 4 ohm, or Single 4 ohm ..
My budget for the Subs is like around $300
Please i wanna place the order tommorow, help me decide ..
-
BUMP
Bringing back an old thread, because i dont wanna start a new one ..
Okay so my buddy is supposed to be buying my amplifier which is a Kicker ZX1000.1 so assuming he does buy it, he wants to use my old Tripple 12" Subwoofer Box too .. But he needs subs for it, which need to be dual 4 ohm, and handle like 400wrms ..
Any suggestions? He doesnt wanna spend more than $300 for subs .. Any suggestions?
He doesnt like CVRs that was my suggestion ..
-
If your smart with the volume knob you shouldn't need the coil upgrade. Are you trying to put like 2000 per woofer or something? Just buy xls or 4s
Well the level 4 is like $75 more than the 3, and i only need it to handle 1k wrms, but i would like it to be Dual 1 ohm instead of Dual 4 ohm ..
I need an application where
1 level 3 = 2ohm
But 2 level 3 = 1 ohm ..
And i know that Dual 4 ohm can do this too, but idk .. lol
-
What are there exact Names on here?
Or are those there names?
-
I know we arent allowed to discuss DC prices, but how much do you think it might cost? For the coil Add on
-
I was wondering if it was possible to have a Level 3 with Level 4 Dual 1ohm coils
-
...uhh gain on 3db? im not too familiar with kicker amps but dont they go from 0 to 11 or something? tune the gains like you should be doing in the first place then you will be fine.
I did tune the gain, i put it to about 3 out of 11 ..
What im asking is if this is safe?
If i have it any lower than 3, then i get virtually NO Bass out of the Amp ..
3db is what sounds good, just dont wanna blow the sub ..
-
So i switched the sub out with one of my RF P3 15" and it works fine ..
So the sub was clearly blown, and the amp goes into protect mode probably to not start a fire or something right?
Side Note:
So basically im running 1k watts to my P3 which can only handle 500 watts .. But i have the gain on like 3db so am i safe?

Okay well on the website it says DC Resistance: 3.2ohm
I just dont wanna blow all 3 subs the minute i hook them up ..
After all, They are only rated at 175rms each, but i was told they can handle even 400rms without problems ..
And audiosavings has a package:
3 of them for $155 which IMO is a good deal ..
