  1. i agree.

you cant put 2 different amps together for a number of reasons. power output, crossovers, even the way the internal components react to everything. you just dont do it. and while we are on this topic, dont mix different subs either. to run 3 speakers you would need one amp, or 2 amps that you can strap. not every amp can be strapped so you have to look 1st. now if you run 4 subs (or 2) you could easily run 2 of any amp you want.

    x2

    Great Information :)

I would just go with 4 Comps, cuz Sonic has a KILLER DEAL on Kicker Comps right now :P

BUT if you dont have the room, then just upgrade to a differant amp

  2. in that case ill trade the california to someone for a kenwood 729s. why cant you run multiple amps if they dont match

They dont have the same power output ..

The kenwood will push 2 of those no problem, each speaker would get 100 watts ..

Personally i would try to sell both of those amps, and buy something that is 1ohm stable, and can push 500watts ..

Then each subwoofer will get almost 175 watts

  3. For that box you should be closer to 6" for 35hz...HOWEVER, that's not nearly enough port area.

Yeah but if i add more port length, it will drop the tuning, correct?

This is what someone else told me:

7.2ft tuned to 35hz with 125" of port is pretty dang close to perfect for those subs

But how can i achieve this in a small box?

  4. or what if i got some thin threaded rod, and cut about an inch or so off of each end of the wire, wrapped it around the rod a few times then took some solder, and torched it to the rod? there would be no way the + and - would touch.

Thats true, that actually sounds like a good idea ..

I would keep the rod short, keep it barely sticking out of the terminal, just enough room for the wires that are soldered on the rod

But i would buy some heat shrink tubing or something ..

  5. Yes i understand what you're saying. Could maybe do the same with a threaded rod, and small ring terminals, but like skittles said, and i nevre thought about was twisting of some sort and the 2 sides touch.

yeah but if you twist them tight, and maybe use some sort of thread locker or whatever its called to keep them from coming undone

  6. Basically I want to stay away from using bolts on my box for speaker wire to be bridged to 1 ohm. I want it done on the sub, then 2 wires run out ot the box to the amp. Does some company make an adaptor where I can plug 2 8 gauge wires into some comtraption/connector, and that forms down to 1 to fit into a sub push terminal?

Try T Taps or whatever they are called ..

    OR

You cam use Ring terminals and connect both the 8ga wires onto a Small bolt with washers and nuts, and insert that bolt into the Sub voice coil terminal ..

Its hard to explain, but do you get what i mean?
