  1. Ok so I'm planning my next build. I've figured out my next amp which is gonna be a aq3500d. I was wondering which sub would be better for this amp. I'm looking at either 2 lvl 4's or 2 xl's. I know both are underated but wanna take the chance of ordering the wrong one and regretting it later. I know the xl's would take the power but would the lvl 4's take that much power even if it was clean power? If I can save some money by getting the lvl 4's that would be great if not it's not a big deal. Just wanted to hear some experienced input

  2. I was actually looking at getting rid of my Mustang and my Dakota to get a Fusion AWD. Honestly, I haven't heard anything bad about either, and haven't seen too many of them come through the shop I work at. I prefer the Fusion's interior over the Malibu's though. And I'm a Ford guy :P Either one would be a good choice.

Well both cars are one's I found on autotrader. They arnt the exact ones I want but I do like the fusions interior better than I like the malibu's. The malibu also comes in the ss version which has an awesome looking body kit and better interior. It also has a couple extra horses under the hood

  3. Malibu is ugly and the ford is well... a ford. Why did you narrow it down to those two?

I like the way they look. both get good gas mileage . I'm not really sure on the ford fusion but idk. I would like to get a truck but I need something that gets good gas mielage. Any other recomendations are welcome to as long as they are in my budget ( which is about $12,500)

Edit: Also both are "roomy" I've ridden in a fusion and I like the way it rides. I'm not a big ford fan except for the mustang but I like the car

  4. ok I was using Gross volume instead of Net volume. Ive got new specs that semm to be what is needed

    Box Dimensions: 17"(H) x 20"(D) x 32"(W)

    Port Dimensions: 14 1/4"(H) x 4"(W) x 15 1/4"(1st port piece) x 16 3/4"(second port piece) 58" of port area

This gives me a total of 3.74 net cubes at 32.20 hz. Does This box look a little better?

  5. hey i have an 89 chevy caprice as well, do you use any sound damplier because i tried and i still cant ge the whole thing i still get annoying squeaks and also does your trunk have the whole for your spare tire; did you do anything to fix that problem??? o and sorry if im gettin off topic but i live ina shithole town where car audio is just means having 5 tweeters in your car lol

    I pm'ed ya

  6. If your port is 4 inches wide it will bend 4 inches away from the back wall of the box. that way it stays 4 inches all the way through. So if your box is 18inches deep the first port piece would be 12.5 inches(The baffle will account for 3/4 of an inch).

ahh ok thats where i was getting stuck. but what about the second port piece. Torres' box calculator doesnt have a spot for a second port piece. Or maybe it does and Im just illiterate when it come to this program. I wanna tune it to 32hz

  7. Your port is going to be really long...so remember its gonna have to bend. So for the port id do...the height of your box minus 1.5"(the top and bottom baffle). And then the width would be whatever you need to get 60sq in.

As per your advice im stayin as close to 3.5 cubes as I can. Current box specs are 16"(H) x 28"(W) x 18"(D) which is 3.67 cubes . Port specs are 14.5"(H) x 4"(W) which gives me 58" squared for port area. I dont have a length for the port because Im not sure where to put the bend.

  8. its gonna be goin into an 89 chevy caprice. It'll be in my back seat until I can get longer power and ground wire. but yes my car has a big ass trunk so I can do a big box. How much more port area we talkin? 3-5" (W)? I'll tinker around with the box calculator and repost some more specs

  9. Box will be for 15" Fi ssd .I haven't built the box yet. Just wanted some to know what you guys think about this box. I came up with the dimensions using Torres' box calculator

    Box Dimensions: 16"(H) x 26"(W) x 20"(d)

    Port Dimensions: 14.5"(H) x 2"(W) x 16"(L) tuned to 33.58hz with a total of 3 common walls

Woofer displacement is already calculated in. Box will be built with 3/4 mdf

    Total Gross Volume: 3.80ft3

    Total Net Volume: 3.23ft3

This will be my first time building a box so any opinions are welcome

  10. Looks good for a gaming computer. You can buy directly from cyberpowers website. www.cyberpowerpc.com I have had nothing but good experiences through them directly. You can also configure the sample pc's they have for sale on there to suit your taste.

On the other hand if you were to build your own you could do an intel i7-750 ( Newegg: $194.99). Its also a lynnfield processor which can do 3-way sli or crossfire on some motherborads. The i5-655k is a clarkdale processor and cannot do this (because of its built in vga controller) on any motherboard. The i7 is also a quad core which will be faster

If you want help configuring a pc just pm me and I'll help you out
