Yeah, and it gets a little more particular because technically there are door panels for the 88-94 models and then different ones for 95-02 . So its kinda hard to decide how to group them.
But luckily we have someone breaking all that down for us now as far as all the different door panels for these models.

A Partner and Myself are each investing in a business that is going to design custom door pods to house multiple sizes and combination of speakers for GM trucks and SUV's. Our Question is which series of these vehicles would the public prefer to see these made for ?? We will in the future make them for both series and even other Brands and Models, but for the first run of these we need to know what the public wants first !!! Post up and vote please !!

X2 on Tech N9ne !! One of my all time favorite groups !! Also, just like they said, you just have to try different tracks. I have spent hours upon hours downloading and trying tracks that others said slammed but wasnt all that great on my system. I cant play super low and im not a fan slowed music myself, partly because i cant play the low-lows !! So just trial and error and see what sounds good on your system, thats part of the fun !!

Scott Buwalda used a 10 in his 240 build...that car sounds incredible, but it's also a completely custom dash with a large sealed enclosure for that sub...once you start cutting the dash you are talking about a SERIOUSLY involved install...you need expert levels of experience for it.
yeah what he said...not worth it we'll do a lot for bass but not that much
oh you are mistaken, i would do that much for the front bass ! I already have 8" mid-bass in my doors in custom enclosures ,fully sealed. LOL

I was actually thinking of a free-air sub for the dash, but i could build a small enclosure underneath the dash if it was just a 6.5 but couldnt fit one large enough for an 8 inch sub. Be alot easier and sound better with a Free-air sub, either 6.5 or 8, or a pair of 6.5's depending on shape of your dash !!

I have seen these on a few vehicles, and i am down for anything that adds bass and shock value to my ride, a big sub in the middle of the dash would do that !!! What are everyones thoughts on this ?? How would it sound ?? What would be the perfect 6.5 or 8 inch subs for this application ?? It would have to be a cool looking and rugged sub to be placed right there in full view !!

Well the JVC brand unit for ipods doesnt support the Ipod touch so i just went with this for now and see if maybe it will work for me !! I dont mind having to use the ipod to control the music instead of the HU, i actually prefer it when its plugged in. So wish me luck !

hugh thats weird. you sure you have it in the right spot? mabey you have it in the sub out or front/rear out? just a thought, i never had this problem wth any HU i had
no , its in the right spot, it plugs into the HU's cd changer port. Its not an rca its called a J-link cd changer port

Oh well, if your not looking for the charger function, does that HU come with a aux port? I wasn't looking to be an ass eclipse, he never said until now he wasn't looking for charge so I was throwing that out there because that's what I did. I used my usb port, but I have a 3rd gen nano, now that my usb hub on my HU doesn't work, I have a cigerette charger plugged to my ipod and the ipod plugged through a aux, and works fine.
no aux in, just the changer port in back, think just problem with that manufacturer, oing to look for another cord

Or you can get a HU with a usb port, and set it to run through your ipod, and problem solved, just use a normal Ipod cable and connect your ipod right the front of your HU and you don't have to spend any extra money time or effort to achieve what you are looking for. Or buy a $10 ciggerete charger for your ipod.
Actually my HU does have an USB port in the front but the ipod tough will not play through standard usb on JVC HU's. And i didnt really care to have the charger function, it just was part of that particular cable. Thanks

Just a warning to those of you with JVC HU's that want to attach your ipod touch, i ordered this cable from Ebay that was stated to work with Ipod touch 1st and 2nd gens and plug into the cd changer plug in the rear of JVC stereos. Also came with a hot and ground wire so you can charge your ipod also. Well i got it all wired which involved pulling my HU out, and plugged it all up , and surprise , it didnt work. It did charge but the plug got very hot and my HU didnt even recognize that anything was plugged into the changer port unhooked power wires just so it wouldnt get hot while trouble-shooting but never got it to work. Upon closer inspection the connectors inside the plug that goes int the HU look to be 180 degrees off. Plug only goes in one way so dont know how that couldve happened . Anyways, take it as a warning, mine at least did not work !!

here are the 6.5's, i think they look awesome. My favorite part is that they are advertised for high SPL and Free-Air applications !!!

I was just looking at those same exact speakers in my catalog also and im thinking about ordering a couple of the 6.5's for my doors. They are advertised for high spl and look like they are built well also .

thanks the plan is to also have some ok bass if the subwoofers were off lke still get the 45+ range because my gf gets really pissy she does not like bass one bit :-(

I have the same problem with my wife ! Plus i have to transport my kids to school so i have to keep the bass down when they are in the car ! I am using the Kicker comp 8's in my door pods and just running them on my amp full range , not x'd-over , and man they sound incredible in a small sealed enclosure as mids !! Plenty of bass without my subs and really good frequency span for the mids !! Dont know if you are using an enclosure or not but these sound great in one !! Good luck !! Second the Kickers are 100 bucks for the pair so . . . . .
P.s. The Daytons and the Tang Bands are both great speaker manufacturer's , i own speakers from both companies and love them !!

Hey guys , can someone please tell me how i can tell or where to look to see if my 1999 ford taurus se has the factory installed keyless entry and alarm system or not ???? It has power locks but i bought it used and didnt come with keyless entry and would like to buy some remotes and have them programmed but im not sure if it has keyless entry ??? PLease help !!!!!!!!

yeah well its just not going to happen !!! No matter how i try they just wont fit cuz the area around my pillars is just way to small.
Frustrated and going to put off the pillars for now and upgrade my tweeters and mids in my doors. But when i decide to get back to them , i will probably use these instead, they are alot smaller !!

Yeah i am thinking i might have to go with one of these on each side and maybe a couple of Tang Band 2" drivers in each cuz even if i mount them off center , 3 are going to be fairly big !!

If Luis_BFD cant find a plug , you can make one, i made one myself for an old amp im using for my highs out of a 5 pin plug out of an old computer !!
Hope this helps if you cant find one !!
