Hi This is Ed's Girl Friend. Extending the wires to the VCM didnt change anything since they are basically just power. Any voltage drop from a few extra feet is minimal. But It should be on true ignition since some cars have ACC that can shut off. The 12v setting for the VCM dip switches have a limit of how high it will go, and you may be at that limit, I am not sure what it is. But it does take a few pushes of the arrows to get it to move, so keep pushing it. The settings must be changed with the car running and amps turned off. Also, for the above picture, one meter shows the rear batteries of the vehicle (20 D1400s) And the VCM meter is the alternator setting.
