Something showed up.. Pair of DC Sound Labs Level 3 12" I really need to finish my trunk now. It's been 10+ years since I've felt that itch/tickle/whatever in my ear from lots of bass. heh. Now I need to really decide if I want to keep it sealed or build ported.. Guess finishing the trunk will have to wait.

Ohh yeah. I guess all that info is helpful. heh. 2005 Malibu. I need to take some measurements, but I should be able to get at least 4.6ft3 now that I dont need full access to my spare. I'll be running a Sundown Audio 1200d on it. So 1200 watts is what they rate it at (which from what I see is a low number for them).

So, since I decided to drop my amps into my tire well, I am starting to think I can go ported. For a rap/rock combo, what would be my best tuning freq?

I ment to call today to see if there were any lead times on the L3 12's or if they are stocked right now. Anyone have an idea?

I did get that attachment guide, still made a few bad cuts, but they were not to far off (like top corner). Most of the time I'd be at a friends and having to work on their time tables and rushing things. Now I can work in my apt garage and annoy the people that live above it. heh. But I am nice.. I only do cutting after 12pm and before 5pm. Kinda got my amp rack in place, just need to make a hardware run to get it mounted. Then I get to yank it all out to cover it.

Yeah. I just didn't have the needed room to get a ported box in and still get the spare tire out. I could of done like I used to in the past and toss the spare in the back seat, but after doing that for 6 years. I still might see what I can design for a ported box that allows me access to my spare and see what I can come up with. That's the fun part, seeing what will work. One more month till I have my amps and subs. I'm just hoping the 1.15ft3/ea will be good. Can always add a little polyfill if needed. Or build another box. It's nice to live across the street from Home Depot.. Or is that a bad thing? Can't wait. Just need to cut the mounting holes out in the face. Didn't wanna do that till the subs show up. Kinda happy at how it turned out considering I was using a battery operated circular saw. heh.

So, I got my box all done, 1.15ft3 after displacement (per side) for 2 L3 12's. Is anyone here running their DC subs sealed? Just wanting to get some opinions. This box was pretty much the biggest I could build and still have the function of the trunk I needed. I didn't want to drop down to 1 12 or 2 10's. Will have a Sundown Audio 1200d on them.

I've ran ported one way back when. Been running sealed ever since. I was looking at the specs on the L3 10's and 12's. Wondering if there is a misprint. The 10's show a sd of 487 and the 12 shows one of 494. Is that right? All the other subs have a big difference between SD on the 10's and 12's

I'm going to be building a box for two level 3 12's, sealed due to some space and other trunk requirements. I will be pushing around 800w RMS to them. Box size will be a tad over 2.5ft3 and I will toss a divider in there for some strength. I will be using .75" MDF. I was reading the specs and sealed box says 1ft3. After displacement of the sub I'll have 1.12ft3. There is a small option to make the box a tad bigger, but I only gain .06ft3 out of it. My question is, will I need to add any other internal bracing? I was thinking about doing some pieces of 2x2 on all the corners to help strengthen them up
