  1. Let me state , I was not at Rockford during the development of the BR amplifiers; thus I do not claim to know exactly how they work. I have a good idea though. The SIGNAL LED on the DD-1 is not filtered. Thus the reason it flickers at 40Hz, our eyes are just fast enough to detect the LED turning on and off as it follows the sine wave. This being said, if the SIGNAL LED is not coming on, the DD-1 isn't seeing anything over 1Vrms coming out of the amplifier. It is possible that the output of this amplifier is on a different ground than the B+ input ground. Let's try connecting the red probe to the + speaker terminal, and the black alligator clip to the - speaker terminal. Maybe this is what is going on. If the amps put out >1% then the distortion light would have stayed on but it only came on about where my ears had it set so I knew that was okay plus I have two of the PBRx4s and birth sheets say .076% and .197% THD+N @ rated power and they put out right under 350w RMS and about 1025w MAX which is great considering they are only capable of 4ohm output. After trying a couple more grounds all is well and my four power 6.5s sound better than on a full size 300w Alpine MRP-F300. I first thought since the amp uses all molex connections that I would need to use both + and - output to complete the circuit but this is not the case. Thanks guys for the suggestions but I do have a couple questions regarding the recommended crossover settings in the DD-1 manual. The PBR300X4 has preset 12dB crossovers at 80Hz and my headunit has an internal HPF which I am able to set to the manual's recommended setting of 125Hz for my speakers. Questions are would the two crossovers interfere with one another and should I leave the headunit set at 125Hz, 80Hz or leave it off so the amp will do all filtering?
  2. Thee DD-1 says other wise as the distortion light was on and no signal light. correct, both unhooked.
  3. So I got my DD-1 and was and still am excited about it, hooked it to the Pioneer AVH4200DVD head unit and found no clipping at full volume(40) which is always a plus. On to the PBRs, tested the PBR300X4 first and no signal was ever detected but right about where I had previously set it by ear the distortion light came on so I was still able to set it with <1% distortion. Moving on to the PBR300X1, nothing nothing nothing no signal light, no distortion light and even with PEQ cranked up still nothing. I also tried all 1khz tones on the 4ch and all 40hz tones on the mono, still no difference. HELP!!!
