  1. not sure here... but I think he means "indoors" as in inside

wtf? how did you decipher that? lol. i never would have guessed.

sure a battery like that will work, i used the same battery to run some small amps. however you will want a battery charger to keep the battery charged (obviously). just get a small automatic charger that will go from charge to float by itself.

Thanks! Do you think it would stay stable at around 12/13v with a 1000 rms monoblock?

  2. i would not do that. remember that water flows through the door when it rains. im sure its more water than splashes on the battery under the hood. so it will corrode and worse case, short out. if you want to hide little batteries then find cavities in the plastic panels. you can usually find those in cargo areas.

plus getting the larger gauge wire into the door to the battery would be a serious problem. you cant just hook up a 14awg wire to it and expect that to be ok. the battery will be part of the entire charging system. is there is a draw anywhere in the car, some of that power will come from this battery.

Hi, this battery will be ran in the house in a room, not in a car..

Do the problems which you mentioned still apply?

  3. 'Arsenal' is JVC's premium line- think Kenwood Excelon or Pioneer Premier. It's definitely a solid radio- the quality coming from a USB-connected iPod is amazing, and the internal amp isn't bad at all. One thing I like about it over some other radios is that it actually charges the iPod when it's plugged in- overall I'm very happy with it.

wow thats actully reallycool to know. and on to a dumb question. the reason my im getting a new radio is becuase my sony seems to clip even at low volume levels. can tht be because its old and falling apart? or i wont know untill i hook up a o scope to it?

Nope old sony hu's tend do that whats the model number? If it has a d-bass function then the clipping should be from that

  4. The reason why it dont hit low was already answered.

1- Its a prefab box, prefab boxes are usually built in the 40-50hz range, and your trying to play 30hz. What happens when you play well below tuning is the port is not tuned correctly to properly control the subwoofer cone, when it can not control the cone the woofer just plays all sloppy, as if you where playing the subwoofer with no box (free-air).

2- Amps have a subsonic filter for a reason, Id suggust using it, because playing below tuning is damaging to your woofer(s)and over time will end up damaging the voice coil from it hitting the bottom plate, tearing spiders, jumping the top plate gap (which could result in the coil sticking and tearing spiders, or bending the coil, pushing the coil thru the cone, etc).

3- your subwoofers are some what cheaper, this always dont mean they can not hit lows in the proper box but generlly a cheaper woofer does not have as great of a freq response as a nicer woofer.

Im betting your woofer kinda sounds like one of my old subs I was abusing to hell and back before I sent it out for a recone, my goal was to break the woofer before getting it reconed.

Watch this video at 1min and 8seconds...

I was playing well below tuning freq and the woofer was jumping the gap, and hitting the bottom plate. (it had torn spiders from my abuse in my old cadillac wall). :yahoo:
