  3. i look at it this way .... i have a convertable with nice sound system ... my doors are always unlocked .... why ?? if someone wants it they are going to get it .... you have to open my door to get the stuff out its a small two door ... ill let them open the door and take the stuff ... better them take it and me replace it then they take it and i replace the speakers AND a soft top .... no matter what you do if someone wants your stuff ..... they will take it plane and simple ...
  4. the grab it only works in a reversed motion ... so if you did go with that idea every time you took them out you would have to put new screws in and strip them. i would just get some of those security screws you see on bathroom stalls .... star bit with a nipple in the center so you have to get a special bit and no other bit will work and the niple in the center prevents form using a staight head on the star ... thats what i use on my stuff these screws http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=security+screws&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=k8CYTPOlOZClnQfM4qAk&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=image&resnum=3&ved=0CFIQzAMwAg or any type of secrity screw they make some funny bits out there
  5. looking for a small speaker that sounds good and has decent frequency range with clarity. and im looking at small speakers and they are 30 watt 50 watt max handling ... how would i hook those up with out a big kaboom ???

  11. Ok so im finally going to post up some puctures of my capri build and some older pics of where i started out from. Im 19 and a super poor college student and hope that i can get a build like some other members have but for now im happy with what i got. It all started out with some speakers and amp that i got for free from my brother then i got a bunch of plexiglass for free so i said let me try something out terrible idea ... looked good but very dirty so scratch that. WOOD !!! looked alot better !!! i was VERY happy with it !!!!! then i got a capacitor and that helped alot :-)) helped alot but it was still a very shitty amp but it sounded good for the time being.
  12. i do have my RCA's wound up .... i will straighten them out and see what happens ....hopefully it will help and im running rockford fosgate single twist RCA dont know there quality but i like rockford
  13. i have a strong feeling is something to do with after the amp because when i unplug the RCAs the noise gets louder ... do i put all my grounds in one spot or in different spots ?
  14. i have a strong feeling is something to do with after the amp because when i unplug the RCAs the noise gets louder ... do i put all my grounds in one spot or in different spots ?
  15. all grounds are solid bare metal ... the signs are saying bad amp but its a new amp only 2 months old.... does rockford fosgate repair amps ?
  16. ground look isolator is at the amp and i am running Rockford fosgate single twist RCA's... im going to try and wrap all power wires in electrical tape and then the 3 rca's to maybe help reduce signal noise kind of running out of ideas EDIT: ok when i unplugged the RCA's from the front channel the noise in the front is very loud with engine off only in accessory mode. the ground loop isolator i have is a fierce ground loop isolator and there are 2 brown wires coming from the box ... i have yet to figure out what they are for.
  17. well i put ears to the speakers and i have FAINT noise coming from the 6x9s and mids. when i unplug one side of the rca cables the noise gets MUCH louder and then when i unplug both it goes away ... the HU RCA's are already externally grounded i did that already to cancel that problem. like this . http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/606527.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/606514.html&usg=__PcwOq42iie2W2j43cC1IbTw1RXs=&h=400&w=400&sz=43&hl=en&start=0&sig2=NVJKYEbuH16bllx_7FltJg&zoom=1&tbnid=SIiQfElLSV3Z4M:&tbnh=136&tbnw=140&ei=BpiKTMqdKaKanAfP0piXCQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpioneer%2Brca%2Bground%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26biw%3D1144%26bih%3D665%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=126&vpy=63&dur=128&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=146&ty=147&oei=BpiKTMqdKaKanAfP0piXCQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0 i notice that when i move the RCA away from my power wire by the amp and it got more faint. is there away to filter the RCA and power wires to reduce the noise coming from the power wires ?
  18. Amp is Rockford Fosgate P-400.4 i hope its not the amp i paid alot for her. and the tweeters are the tweeters on my Orion 6.5 components
  19. ok i am getting alternator noise from my tweeters and its driving me crazy !!! i have power wire and RCA separated as best as i can. Running all 4gauge wire from battery to amps and grounds. HU is a pioneer and i did that external RCA ground thing because i guess pioneer is common for bad RCA grounds. running 10gauge ground from HU to bare metal. all grounds are reading .3 OHM i have ground loop isolators on RCA's all grounds are in different locations ( i have been reading and 50% say ground all in one spot 50% say ground all in different spot.) i am thinking maybe the power wires and RCA's are still to close to each other and i was thinking if i wrapped both up separately in electrical tape would it help filter ??? any ideas would be AMAZING !!!!!! ALSO speaker wire is ran away from power wires as best as possible. EDIT: and all grounds have been shaved to BARE metal and are secured very god with ring terminals.
  20. i am going to be putting a 10 inch subwoofer in my friends car and i want to make the subwoofer fin inside the cavity of the spare tire. i dont really know how to build a round enclosure and i was wondering if there are any tips on how to do it.
