IDK why, I wasnt thinking lol
But could I run a smaller amp say a RF 1000.1, safely without an extra battery or HO alt?
it doesn't matter how many watts [ok it does] you try and run, running the stereo with the car off is not a good idea without a battery bank or charging unit of some kind. I don't see any reason to run it with the car off, if you are watching gas that much you prolly shouldn't get a stereo. and if you were some place worried about exhaust fumes, wait till later or get a charging unit. i say you crapped it out cause of voltage, but the video will tell all.

I set the volatge for 1000 watts
And the engine wasnt running so that might have been it
I bet it dipped too low on the voltage, if you did set it for 1000 watts. what kind of battery do you have and how long was it going with the car off. i know my battery is crap, but it barely last 1 minute with the car off. then i gotta pray it starts.

not to dis that amp, but i love the power acoustik smaller amps. The under 2000 watt amps come with semi-appropriate fusing. According to the web the 3000D comes with 3 25 amp fuses. even at 14 volts, thats 1050 watts. at extreme efficiency. just no way it was gonna put out close to 1700 rms. so if you set the voltage for 1700 rms, then it was prolly super clipped. i would have thought the subs would have gone first. sorry, but thats all i can figure. unless your voltage took a dip

it would be sick to fiberglass them into the bow[sp?] and have them pushing the water. i wonder what it would sound like underwater?

some 12" kicker comps [cheap to replace if they go bad] with some O2 components. you could get a noise pollution ticket in your boat. I honestly dont know but you may need marine grade subs due to water damage and corrosion. what volts does a boat run at? is it 12 volts?
-
shipping is 14x the price of the product

u got a semi to put these in? 12 12's it very possible if and only if you know what you are doing. clamshell?
-
2000 dollars is a decent budget. are you going to have to pay someone to intall it?
2 12" fi Q
1 crunch 3000
200-300 amp alternator
2 deep cycle batteries
[if you want kicker still]
kicker ss components
kicker 850.4
The components can be pretty much whatever brand you want and like the sound of, but i would atleast count on 200-400 rms on mids [total] to keep up with those subs.

daisy chain is using the rca inputs and outputs on amps. this is NOT strapping the amps, where both amps do the same thing. when daisy chaining, i'm pretty sure you have to set each gain individually and control each amp individually.

didnt work for me

if you don't want to make the car electronically do the shifting, put in some actuateurs [sp?] and use some engineering design to make the clutch move in and shift gears, essentially makin it an automatic by voice. and the lexus can be parked without someone in the car, the sensor on the seat just has to be tricked to think there is a person there, like a lot of us do with in dash dvd players and bypassiing the parking brake kill switch. still very possible but would take a team of engineers atleast a couple months with atleast 50-100k to play with to get the concept working and actually be able to apply it to a real car. i still say its very possible

i love the flex of this whole setup. one of my fav's

the beast is rediculous, i like his setup too

it could be made to do it, i have no idea what the cost would be, but you would have a carputer and voice recognition software. then the computer would send a signal to the brain in the car and tell it what to do. like "reverse 10 feet" and it could be made to do it. It is very possible. kinda like the cars that parallel park themselves, but with more options. for all we know, its already developed and an available feature on a 2011 lexus.

i have about 48 square inches and its really not enough, it have some massive port velocity. but i'm also too lazy to rebuild and its not very noticeable unless your head is right by the port.

amc pacer, and wall that bitch.
I would love to see someone build in a dodge sprinter, those really tall vans. but mostly hatches and suv's. Not easy to get loud in a trunk set up.
-
That seems like too much, some would argue 4000 watts rms is too much for a btl, but 6000 is really excessive [sp?] and 6000 is a conservative #, with good electrical [and you will need a powerplant to pull this off], you will be at atleast 6500+ per sub. I dont think it will work, but prove me wrong and lets see some 160+.

i'm pretty sure both the ZX and Kx are 2 ohm stable. it may work at 1 ohm, but not rated or suggested to be used at that impedance

i've always "seen" grey goose, but have heard of success with tequila also. the red bull is pretty strong, i personally prefer monster

Fill your car with ice, it might help for a little while
might last a few minutes, i have seriously considered getting a camel pack filled with water and then freeze it and wear it. i would get slightly wet, but atleast its just water and not sweat.

eh, compressor fail = teh gayness
tell me about it. I have 2 portable fans in my car but when its 98 degrees and 70% humidity, nothing helps.
-
slight re-scheduling, I start tomorrow now. I'll try and get something for your guys, but I prolly wont even take my car to give demo's since the compressor just went out.

When you get it, dont forget to buy these pants
thanks, i just spewed my morning coffee

if it took 17v it may actually do half rated power before its trademark "explod". i highly doubt it will take 17 volts for very long

you should decide on an amp then make threads asking for price, and not simultaneously.

that power acoustik would have been pretty decent for those subs. at 1 ohm it would have put out 800 rms atleast. and that stock alt will be ok, just be smart and dont run it with the car off
