Yeah, any of those options will kick ass. it would be kinda cool to see all sundown and get some nightshades
-
i have 2 sundown saz3000s to work with so i can power multiple subs but i can only squeeze around 12.5 cubic ft wall after displacement in my acura integra and i was wondering if yall thought i could get more spl and quality out of multiple cheeper subs that take less cubic feet per sub than those monster 18's. Maybe 4 15's or like 6 12's idk.
I personally would do 6 12's just for a "wow" factor.
But with that kind of power, almost anything you decide will be loud.

get a chicken on one arm, and the hoopty on the other

Ive always heard of "skunk beer" and everyone around here uses it to describe non-alcoholic beer. makes an OK chaser if needed, other than that, just wait til your drunk then shake them all up and have a spray fight with them. [mmmmmm wet t-shirt contest with beer]

by the way, the only reason i would go with alpine is I like the way they look better. It you get lucky, some 750.1's have been seen putting out over 1000 watts with the right electrical. But i would safely say 800rms atleast from the kicker.

off topic, but what was that song in the video please?

2 15" Fi BTL
2 Rockford Fosgate T4K
1 High Output alternator
4 deep cycle batteries
Any head unit you want
1/0 wiring
Custom made box, NOT pre-made, actually have them build one for you.
If you wanted, you could do a wall, or take out the back seats and fire the subs through the seats.
endless option, this is just one

no, same problem with the kenwoods. personally i would take the alpine, but not the crunch also. It MAY do half rated power, if that.
-
it all depends on your money. if you got $4000 to spend, we would give you a completely differnt answer than if you had $800 to spend. Look around this link and see if something catches your eye.

We would like to help, but we need more info than just you want it loud

its gonna take a good chunk of change.
My first two questions are what is your budget and do you have access to woodworking tools [aka build your own box]?
-
It would be horrible by itself, but it does match the wheels
-
true, glassing is a whole new game. I have much more respect now for the time it takes to fill and sand in order to get a good finish. [lol why my box looks not so hot]
-
I said it would push it well. it doesn't matter how many watts you throw at it, if its not installed well, it may be worse than your 12's.
Are you gonna do sub up or back? port through rear deck? that sub with 300-400 watts CAN out perform your current setup, but it's all in the install
-
your amp [if its that power acoustik 2000d] is rated at 600 [maybe 500-550 actual] rms at 4 ohms. The Mj 18 is rated at 700 rms. I say it will push it very nicely

GET THE SAME KIND OF SUBBBBBBBB
-
phase wiring, is when all the subs are moving at the same time and the same direction, one moves out they all move out. prefferably wire them all with the corect + and - connections
-
epoxy, clean the area first. Get some that is UV resistant since it will be in the sun.
-
actually i was thinking of painting it 2-tone with yellow and white
it would be awesome to maybe see a fiberglass duckbill front to the van, would make it even more of a crowd favorite
GOTDUCK FTW

I love mine, they take whatever I throw at them. I was really stupid/careless when setting the gains on my amp and accidentally ran 1200 clipped watts to each sub for about 20 seconds. HOLY SHIT it was loud, but i was uber lucky it didn't kill them. The only thing even close I would conpare them to is some typr r's, but if you have a good deal on kicker, grab 'em and run. I have ran my 400rms with 600 rms for several competitions and did a 140.1 with my setup in my sig with the song "elevator".
Long story short, give them rated power, maybe a tad more power in a good box, and you can't find a better sub for the price in my opinion [85 shipped on ebay]

not true...have you seen what the 9500 series does?
MTX does have some pretty decent subs, considering they are commercially available. You just can't compare a product for the masses like MTX to a sub for the few experienced users like, such as Fi, DC, RE, etc.
The 9500, and the other high number models, can be made to perform very well and get loud, imo they're overpriced, but its also on the shelf at some electronics stores, so +1 to mtx for catering to the masses, somone has to.

yeah I wasn't looking to sell it on here, but i was just trying to see what people thought a first time car audio person would pay for it. I also have a prefab sealed box they came with and I could charge 300 for the subs, amp, and box?
If someone here wants any of this stuff let me know, I can get all the pics you want [the only decent thing IMHO is the amps]. But i'm just trying to not rip off someone but at the same time protect my investment.

what year taurus is that?
-
did you seal it from the inside? braces? no internal shots? looks good from the outside, you gonna finish it?
-
those jackhammers are shit, the ones i have seen have all blown when rated power was givin to them. They also get really hot easy, yes the subs get hot. I could put my hand on the cone and it was very warm. lol and the guy at circuit city said it was normal for "high performance subs"
