  2. yeah too old for the pawnshops to take i think ill just wait till i can see if theres aux adapter for it
  3. uhm its got some plug for a cd changer i think if thats what you are talking about and it has an ai net switch at the bottom
  4. i tried it earlier. it vibrates too much to use the cd player and i dont think here is anyway to get an aux input in on it
  5. im looking to sell an alpine cda 7839 so i can buy a new deck to use on my four wheeler. any estimates on what its worth
  6. that would be pretty bad ass if you go through with it. are you planning on upgrading the front too? or did you already
  7. x2 i got excited. wouldn't that be sick as hell though?? it would be but like i said the 1970 is too old for that lol. plus its not mine.
  8. well if it was mine i would want it loud. but its my father's and it just doesn't sound right with the 8. so put some better subs in for his xmas present.so im kinda thinking those shallow 10's or shallow 12's in a sealed box
  9. a lil bit over kill lol i was kinda thinking of 2 shallow 12's or 2 shallow mount 10's
  10. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=15573&id=100000586677074&l=75d0b8567a link to the photos i have
  11. well i think the seats are too low i think they may only have 1 or two inches under the seats. however it would have enough room to mount an amp under the seat. i think it would have to go behind the seats or i would have to mount em into the back wall with a box built into it
  12. i dont really have many pics but i can take some this weekend when my dad pulls it out. i posted a video link on the first post.
  13. maybie if it was like an 1980 or so, but i wouldn't do it in a 70. thats a cool idea though
  14. i'm looking to build a good sounding system for my father in his elcamino its a 1971 ss model. i cannot change the deck or the dash speakers. it has boss speakers and tweeters on the rear wall. i am mostly looking to upgrade his sub. right now there is only a 160 watt dual 8 " sub. so my question is what would be the best size sub and type of box to put for the size of the cab. here is a video of the current system. http://www.smdmedia.net/index.php/videos/player/323/8.html
  15. so if i understand what you just said dont run it through the stock fuse box use an appropriately sized inline fuse? or am i completly off there
  16. i guess what i am mainly looking for would be deck installation, amp wiring, what to look for when choosing speakers and electrical tips. if that would narrow it down enough
  17. it would all depend on what type of box you put it in and how you power it.its always seemed to me that if you had more subs than a bigger size it would sound better like 2 12's instead of 1 15 for example.
  18. just looking for any tips or tricks for car audio. i am just curious about how you guys do it. i know a little bit from screwing around with my radio project but id like to learn more
  19. ok thanks for all the advice and answers. i learned a bit and i'm gonna look at a few different batteries
  20. see i thought when you ran it dead you dropped it to like 8 volts or so.
  21. well the problem is i use it on the four wheeler that's why i play it so loud. so that's why i cant run a charger on it. another option i was considering was buying a second battery then running it in parallel would that double the amount of time i can play it for?.
  22. the way i usually run the radio is with the bass boost off. bass set to -7 and treble set to 4 with volume 42. i think it is like a 165 amp battery. and it plays for like 30 minutes or so. i have seen other radios on you-tube that have amps in them that can play for a few hours. and yes before the amp i played the radio for like a week of riding before the battery went dead.oh lastly i'm not running the battery completely dead. it starts at about 12.4 volts then after 30 mins or so it drops down to 11. something volts and then radio and amp shuts off

  24. ok i know you guys are probably getting a little annoyed with my ice chest radio questions but here is my question.i currently have a lawnmower battery powering a 300 watt amp and a dual media receiver and it'll play all the way up on 42 for about 30 mins. my question is if i buy a car battery would it play any longer. also can you suggest any ways for me to conserve power. i have a video of it posted on the main site and i will post a link to it
