  1. yeah i hear you. well they broke into my shed. didnt steal the 71 elcamino but they stole my aq2200, they also stole a bazooka 12. my fosgate hu and my old alpine hu. and a 180 amp alt.
  2. apparently a video from a security camera isnt enough evidence for the police.
  3. thanks for telling me about the second skin . ill have to go take a look at that
  4. has anyone here ever used lizard skin. its a spray in sound dampener. my dad wants to be cheap about dampening his elcamino so i figured id see how good the lizard skin works. http://www.lizardskin.com/pages/sound_control.php
  5. even if something dosent have 0 gauge inputs you can still use it. like i said distrubution block. as long as you do the big three right you shouldnt have any problem with using 0 gauge
  6. the way i see it no matter what i was running i would use 0 gauge. for one it is ready for any normal system you would throw at it and it would never need to be upgraded. 2 less work since you dont have to rip out all your old wires to put new ones. just get a distribution box and your set
  7. it was some of the money i had saved and some of the money from my taxes..
  8. thanks for the support. its just hard losing two trucks a deck and an aq2200in less than a month
  9. im just on a really low note right now. im on the third week of bad luck. within the past 3 weeks ive lost about 600 dollars worth of audio equipment also
  10. both builds i was thinking of (the dp 21) and ( the 2 dc lvl 4 15's) are now canceled until further notice or forever. the reasons i am canceling both builds is for 3 reasons. the 02 silverado i was getting was wrecked monday of this week. moving on yesterday the other truck i was gonna buy. the 1998 gmc z71 was stolen. and lastly today the deck on my four-wheeler caught fire and burnt. so as of right now im taking a break from planning anything out or any audio things. thanks for all the support you guys have given me over the past few weeks.
  11. ah. well now i have to figure out what i can fit in a 1998 gmc 1500 z71 because im not getting the o2 anymore
  12. i figured it would be. it looked the same as the new models i just wasnt sure
  13. not all that sure yet. the truck has 190,000 miles on it so i might just wait till i can get a newer truck. im thinking of the two dc lvl 4s instead.
  14. damn you bull shit me not. for the radio all you have to do is pop of that trim ring right?
  15. seriously? i thought that was only the 99 models and up but then again ive only saw a drivers side view of the truck.
  16. i havent bought them yet, im still weighing in on my options. ive heard a 12 l7 in an extended cab sonoma and it flexed the hell out of the roof. so i think the 2 15's should be enough bass for me
  17. so im guessing i should be able to wire both subs to the aq2200d at 1 ohm?i'm leaning towards the aq because its a good bit cheaper
  18. seems simpiler than trying to get 1 big amp to run the subs. even though i would have to run more 0 gauge and more fuses
  19. i will no longer be getting the 02 chevy silverado. instead i will most likely be getting a 1998 sierra 1500 z71 ext cab. so the dp 21 build is being thrown out because i cant open my back doors to get the box in. i was thinking or two solobaric l7 15's instead. i was wondering what two amps you guys would recommend to run these subs. Impedance (OHMS) 2 or 4 DVC Max Rec Amplifier Power (WATTSPEAK/RMS)* 2000/1000 any help would be greatly appreciated
  20. sounds like he plugged the short rcas into the preamp out on his bass amp then ran it into the other rcas on his 4 channel
  21. you would have to wire the speakers in parallel if i recall correctly.
  22. that should work fine. as long as your below the ohm limit you'll be good
  23. oh yeah that should be fine i thought you were trying to run a 4channel amp off of just 1 preamp. but yeah that should be fine your just gonna have a front left and a front right. or left to one channel and right to the other channel? Yea pretty much had an Older fosgate 2 channel laying around should power my mids and highs pretty well and has the correct crossovers hook left to left channel and the rights to right channel how many speakers are you planning to run on each channel
  24. oh yeah that should be fine i thought you were trying to run a 4channel amp off of just 1 preamp. but yeah that should be fine your just gonna have a front left and a front right. or left to one channel and right to the other channel?
