It depends on which coil you have. The ones in my Nightshades are 50mm coils but there were also other different sizes. Iirc there were 42mm, 50mm, and 56mm length coils that were used in the Nightshades. The 46mm coil was in the origional and was the loudest of the 3, the 56mm coil was the long coil option that Jake was offering, and the 50mm coils are the newest that have the vents in them. Only a select few have the vented 50mm coils since the Nightshade is no longer in production.
Appreciate it, so I have the 56mm coil. While I have this thread open might as well ask. Do you know the xmax on the nightshades with long coil/extra spiders?
-
How did he get away with sending you something broken?
-
Sale pending.
Isn't 06 the newer motor?
-
Whats is a Nightshade dual 1 coil length? 2.2?
-
No one OEM's softparts that small to handle a motor that big. It would cost a fortune to machine the equipment that would be able to make the new top assemblies. I don't even know what what kind of spiders you could use on a 8'' basket, that would probably have to be fabricated also.

I need two 18'' subs with low fs/ high xmax. Blown, or even motor only, IDC. A few I have in mind are AA Havoc, any TC sub, RE MX, RE XXX (06+), etc. I'm open to any other drivers as long as it gets low.
-
they look good jacob. <waitin to see them tested .
Nice to see your using several local suppliers for parts, no matter what size.
-
Jacob,
Make the nightshades in 10" and I can see sundown in my CRX..............
He made a couple nightshade 10's for a similar price, you just have to get in touch with him and see if it is still possible with the new versions.
-
u can borrow mine if i can sleep in tha port...
Scott or flipsid, do these subs have the long coil option? I feel like with the low notes they are hitting they would jump the gap without it.
-
pix? it should plug into your factory headlight plug. and the others plug into the bulb
If it came with pos/neg wires with prongs on the end, it should simply fit into your stock harness plugs holes (if you ordered right kit)
-
If its a cracked magnet/top plate then reconing wouldn't help huh? Also, the coils still read close to 2 ohms. Would I need to take apart the sub and have them "rewound" or should I just get a whole new kit? Also, how to check for cracked magnet/top plate?
I doubt its a cracked magnet if its still playing, it's pretty a rare occurrence and the only reason I say that is because when my top plate cracked the sub was completely stiff. If your coil is blown, then you need a recone, if the magnet is cracked, then you pretty much need a whole new sub.
-
If the sub doesn't move at all when you push it could mean cracked magnet/top plate, or you fried the coils and they have become unwound.
-
gonna look sick, u gonna post pics when they are on
Yeah youll see them in 2011

i guess the rims are ok but thats not really the problem here... the problem is what is a guy doing driving a mini? hahaha
Tell me about it.
-
yea weston you faggot, whats wrong with large rotors on a small car? you dont have to drive a big suv with 26"+ rims to have rotors.
Those rims are extremely generic looking. I wasn't really going anywhere with the rotor thing.
-
so ima do 12000k high beams
10000k low beam &
4000k foggers
so do i need ballests for each bulb
or....
If you get bixenon bulbs with built in high/low beam in one bulb, then you will only need 2 ballasts for your highs and lows. (Also depends on your vehicle) Other than that each bulb requires a ballast. And please don't get 12000 kelvin.
-
They dont have it, tried it already, but thanks ne ways!!
Stealership is your best bet if you can't find them online.
-
whats wrong with nice sized rotors on a small car?
Nothing is wrong with that, he is going to need those 11.35 inch rotors with his 26'' rims.
-
Looks like shit and enjoy your big rotors on your 1200 pound car.
-
LMFAO
No seriously we built my box and the top is crooked almost 3/4 of an inch. I'm just giving him a hard time though its pretty loud thanks to liquid nails!
new idea "i think"
in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!

A lot more RND is put into new driver technology than you think. And I doubt a car audio company is going to revolutionize loudspeakers suspension systems for the sole fact of a 8 inch high performance spl subwoofer, no disrespect, just saying.
