  1. Your right! I looked on the back of the hu and the rcas were connected to the sub out. Connected it back to the rear output and it worked! 1 more question..Will I need a Passive crossover or do the speakers already have it built in?
  2. Thanks audioinnovationsfl. I bought the car a couple days ago and it was already wired up. Im not sure if the RCA's behind the rear deck are hooked up to the right output. Ill have to check into that. And my LP is set on 80hz on my hu thats probably why.
  3. No I have a Pioneer Premier head unit. Can anybody just type a DIY or exact directions on how to run the wiring to my rear deck speakers to activate the tweeters? I want to make sure everything is hooked up right.
  4. I doubt it I tried it with different speakers that I had and it still didnt work? I hear the tweeters come on wen I hookup the factory speaker terminal wires. Um try switching the low pass switch to full pass or high pass I already did I put the filter on my amp to HP. And still no sound? I drive a 01 honda prelude could it be that it already has a built in factory amp? I really dont know whats causing it not to play. I speaker cone gives out bass, but no sound whatsoever. Kind of like a speaker with bass but no sound.

  6. hey everybody Im trying to hookup my 6x9 rear deck speakers to my 2 channel amplifier. The speakers already come with tweeters I just want to hook up my amp to the tweeters that come with the speakers to power it. I already tried getting speaker wire, pos to pos, neg to neg from my amp straight to my speaker terminals but I get no sound. The speakers have bass but I get no sound from the tweeters? Do I need a Passive crossover? Notice I only want my rear deck tweeters activated thats why im using a 2 channel amp.
  7. a 2005 civic ex. I went to an audio shop and they looked at everything and they said its just the way the car was made factory. They said I need a better amp for those subs to the amp is a piece of shit. Can I run a Monoblock amp with my JL Audio WX12's?? 200w RMS for each speaker and they are 4ohm single voice coil.
  8. Exactly! and I dont want my headunit powering full range on my factory speakers. lol. Another thing is I always have to keep my back seats layed down so I can hear the bass throughout the car. Everytime I put back up the back seats my bass gets eaten and cant hear anything...??
  9. Like I said, im kind of new to car audio so please be patient with me. As for mids and highs, I only have factory speakers for now so on my head unit I use HPF and for my subs I use LPF. My question was what should my HPF on my head unit. But I noticed when I turned on the HPF setting on my Headunit I lost a bit of bass from my Subs. Thats what my question was.
  10. I use LPF on my amp, And the HPF setting on my head unit if thats what your referring to. And if you look in the first page of this thread, their is a picture of my amp. It doesnt allow you to set the LPF frequency. The only option I have is 80hz LPF, Off, and HPF on my amp. And on the headunit I dont have the LPF setting I have a HPF setting. ??
  11. No I set my HPF on my Headunit to 50hz and on my amp I set the filter to LP which is 80hz. But ill change my HPF on my HU to 80hz to match it up??? is that correct? I have a Pioneer HU. Ill give u the model number later when I can.
  12. I set the Loudness on Off and the Sub Level on +6 with the 50hz on +4 and my Level on my amp on 0.5V and bass boost on 2-3db.(Needed it to sound a little better)with my HPF on 50Hz on my Headunit. Sounds great when I open the trunk I hear no distortion at all. Subs barely move but it still makes good bass. thanks guys.
  13. Thanks guys. Right now I have my Level set to 1V with no bass boost or bass. But I set the loudness to Medium and the sub W to +5 and their is another equalizer setting on the 50Khz and the higher you set it the more bass you get. So thats on +4. I get good clean bass but the subwoofers barely move?? should I go up a little on the bass? I dont want to underpower them.
  14. Sure ill try to make a video later today. I have a setting on my HU that says Sub W? Is that the Sub Level? Because with the settings I currently have I never really hear clipping just loud punching bass. But im going to back off on Bass boost and the Bass level on the headunit. I think my HU RCA is a 4V. How would it not be safe if im only pushing 140-170 watts on each speaker when the RMS for each one is 200-250watts?
  15. Ok so If I put my Level on 1V can I add the bass on my head unit to +1 or +2? Bc im really not getting the bass I want without my bass boost on 2-3db and my gain O.5V. I just need a setting that wont hurt my subs that will give me adequate amount of bass. Or maybe I can adjust my "LOUDNESS" setting?
  16. One more question...What about the Bass feature on my Head unit? Not sure if its the same as Bass Boost?
  17. It really doesnt clip a whole lot. When I move it down to 1v I dont get as much bass as I want it to. Can I just Adjust it to 1V and go up on the bass boost a little bit? Whats your recommendation?
  18. Heres how I have it setup. I drew it out on Paint lol. Is this correct??
  19. But it says 1 X 340W wouldnt the 1 stand for only one speaker in bridged? bc I wired each speaker in parallel which is negative to negative and positive to positive? What do you mean run it from each channel? sorry im new to car audio. I need help bc I dont want to run my speakers this way if its going to damage it in anyway so feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  20. hey everybody im new to SMD and kinda new to car audio and everything but I wanted to make sure I have my setup correct. I just bought 2 12 inch JL Audio WX12 subwoofers which is a 4 ohms single voice coil with 250 RMS with a 800 watt Sony Xplod amp. I have the speakers wired in Parallel. Here are the specs for my Amp. Sony Xplod XM-ZR1252 800 watt 2 Channel Amp: 2 x 125W RMS (20hz to 20khz) @ 4ohm 2 x 170W RMS @ 2ohm 1 x 340W RMS ( 5hz to 50khz) @ 4 ohm (bridged) so my question is..for each of my subwoofers which can handle 250watts RMS is it safe for me to run them in Parallel? I dont want to bridge them bc wouldnt it be to much RMS for both speakers or would they Equal out since its 2 speakers? Im kinda new to car audio so sorry if its a dumb question.
