  1. yeah its a daily beater, so i gotta keep da fuses. alright, so ground the alt bracket to the chasis, i was lookin again, am i missin fueses at the end of my power wires from the main battery (right before the mulitple batteries) or am i good? meade... thanks alot! how much longer till we get some pics of the new 4000's? ??
  2. Alright guys, i hope you don't mind me askin, but i drew a quick sketch of how i think, from what i read on the forum of how to run multiple wires, and multiple batteries. I think i did everything right, but am i suppose to fuse between the batteries, and right before the battery from the runs of wire from the alt and engine battery? Does it matter which power wires go to which battery in the rear? or are they all equal cause they are in a circuit? ground as well?
  3. awsome, you do not know how much i appreciate you explaining that to me. It was bugging me to death. Is that the same way as meades tahoe is setup?? how is that wired up (i think he runs more wires, cause of the amount of wattage) ??? I'm going to have a total of 3 batts. ONe in the engine, 2 in back. Do i need to fuse the power wire in between the batteries in the rear? or just fuse the power wires coming off the rear batts to the amps? again i was trying to use meades tahoe as an example, but i don't understand what he does... Also, are the wires ran under the car because its easier, i've always ran them thru the firewall thru the inside of the car?? thanks again, david! i appreciate it
  4. Alright guys, i've been trying to follow along on what you all are sayin, but its kinda confusing. I do alot better with visuals so i will use the navigator that Meade built for an example. meatwhistle i'm not trying to steal your thread, just trying to understand. I see that he has 2 sets of wires running from the engine compartment to the rear, which is (2) power, and (2) ground. But where do they come from?? I've been looking at the build pics and it looks like one ground is coming from the alternator bracket, and one from the engine battery, is that right? Also, where do the power wires originate from? it looks like they go directly from the alt to the rear batteries??? I know that the navi doesn't have extra batts in the back, but from what i understand when i add extra batteries, i need to ground them to the chasis, and also the alt bracket is the best place to ground when a car is running, true? Meade, or David, can u PLEASE explain what's goin on in this engine compartment ??? I'm asking cause i am going to need multiple runs or 1/0 gauge wire for my setup as well as extra batteries, and i know you guys know how to do it the correct way! thanks
  5. just thinkin about that makes my ears hurt! :ohow the hell can you stand it ??? over 16k watts, DAMN!!!
  6. While i wait for meades history, here is another question that bugs the crap outta me... I am tryin to figure out how to determine what alternator, as well as how many batteries i will need to run my system. Is there any guidelines to determine these values. For example lets say i have a 5000 watt system, can i plug that into an equation, or some sort of outline to determine what size alternator i need, and how many batteries, or if i wanted an 8000watt system, same thing.... ??? ???
  7. ahhh ok... thanks man! ;D i appreciate you always answering questions without making a big deal about it. One last thing. How did you get started in car audio? i know a pretty good amount of things considering i've done a few installs, but i wanna go further. What do you recommend? audio school?? internships??? Will you ever be attending any shows/events toward the eastcoast?? i wanna see your stuff in person!!!
  8. Hey steve, what are all of these fuses on top of your alts? are you fusing from the alts to the battery in the front, or the batteries in the rear? or, i have no idea??? ??? I was also lookin at the escalade you did, that is the sickest sh*t i have ever seen. The colors and the plexiglass, incredible man! keep on posting new pics, i wanna see the civic when it is finished.
  9. Thanks for clearing that question about the batteries up...But having 2 different batteries, does it mess up your charging/electrical system at all? ??? I had no idea about the civic rebuild, ??? my head has been up my own a** with the amount of school work i have. but yeah, make sure you post those build pics i wanna see what you came up with this time. Are you gonna be putting in air suspension again? I put cylinders on my 95 accord with 1/2" valves, but the ride was so stiff and bumpy it sucked. I had no extra money for an accumulator or to get the better air struts. Alright man, goodluck with finishing up that civic.
  10. What up Steve, i just had a quick question about some pics i saw of your tahoe. You have like 7 total batteries all together, but from what i understand the one in the engine compartment is a yellow top. Are you using an isolator to seperate the yellow top from the odysey's? or is there a different run of wire from the alt to the yellow top, and seperate runs of wire from the alt to the odysey's? the new site is sick man, you gonna rebuild the civic?
