  1. Just received my new Excelon KDC-X896, brand new model. When setting the gains, sub level can only go up to +9 (of 15) before the dd-1 distortion light comes on, even with gain all the way down. In the past, excelon decks needed the sub level all the way up. Not any more.

Wait so on the ken wood excelon decks you have to have the sub level at +15 for dd-1 to pick up a signal ?? Or did I read that wrong

  2. I bought a dmm will see what I'm wired to, bit I followed the Rockford wiring wizard to get 2 dual 4ohm subs down to 1ohm so I'm hoping I didn't stuff up along the way. Could it be the suspension is just a little more lose on the one subwoofer than the other that's why it has more excursion ?? Cos it seems the sound is slowly going away the more I play them

  3. ok so its pretty much like the vid with the jl's but not that bad, its barely noticable with mine but as soon as i looked in the boot and watched them for a lil while i notice, but i dont think it would be that as RAM Designs designed my box and he knows his shit. and it does sound like that video with the clipping of sub but my gain is barely turned up atm and it still does it, everything is on flat through my headunit. but that noise its making is what mine does :( :(

  4. Kevin a video isnt going to help the only camera i have you cannot hear anything bass just drowns everything out i will upload it but it sounds like complete crap, you cant see it in the vid but the sub on the left is the one with the noise and it has a little bit more excursion than the other could i have wired it wrong or something to make that one recieve more power ?

  5. So i connected my 2 ivx 10's up to my 800.1 from you guys and one of the subs is moving more than the other and is making a noise (never heard this noise before) they are wired at 1ohm. i can throw a video up tomorrow to see if i can record the noise its making.

any ideas on what noise could be it sounds like its a mechanical noise but i dunno im a noob at this lol

  6. Hi Guys

i got my DD-1 about 2-3 weeks ago ive tried using it to see my max volume for headunit, i did everything the book tells me to do, the dd-1 says its on but i start turning the volume up and it wont pick up the signal from my headunit, im using the headunit's rca output into the dd-1's input and nothing. than i tried doing it through the speaker output and the black clip on the amps ground and nothing aswell.

so than i thought try out setting the gain for my amp and stop about 5 away from max volume the headunit does (just to see if it will pick up a signal) did everything the same as the book tells me and nothing again will not pick up a signal through my amp either.

Any ideas why this is happening ?

  7. idk if this has already been said, but its 100% true -

Its not what you know but rather who you know. Use your personal connections to get you somewhere to start, and then make more connections through that.

have to agree with this one my first jobs was through girlfriends dad working at the markets as a laborer, quit that job and now going on 4 months ive been a removalist, and i got this job through my sisters boyfriend, Connections work out great when looking for a job.

ps: look up Crown Relocation's they the removalist company i work for and are always looking for laborers. its damn good pay aswell
