  1. y dont people do 220v @ 50htz? to hard to wire a sub? well i dont think u can do 220 to a sub due to 2 main wires then ued have to come off of a common to get the current to flow, so i guess 110-120v is all we got

i got an idea, wire in a dimmer switch in a drop cord and see if it has any effect to the sub, would be a neat idea i think

ive never wall socketed a sub befor, if i want to blow it i just hook it to my amp, sometimes it handles the amp better than i would have hoped

and ive always wonderd, does ohms law work with ac current, like a .5ohm load vs a 4ohm load, do u get more power?

WOW, First off, doesn't matter what voltage it is, if it is coming out of the wall it is 60 hz. Second if the sub can handle it, 220 would be no different then 110, current doesn't change, the resistance is the same, voltage goes up so power goes up. Ohm's law still applies, what do you think is coming out of your amp? AC POWER, ONLY difference is with AC you need to know the phase angle between the current and voltage wave to determine real power output.

  2. @ AMI CUSTOMS Would getting 4 15" FI Bls be as loud and or louder than the 18s due to more cone area?

Im just trying to figure out what setup I want. I have owned both the BL and BTL and they both are great but I prefer the look of four vs 2 big 18s. If i chose the 4 would that mean more batteries? Also does anyone know where I can get a custom dual alt kit bracket made?

4 15s if given the proper air space would be louder then 2 18s, in almost any setup. Two 3500d.1 strapped at 2 ohms wouldn't require any more batteries then what you listed, if you wanted better then 13 volts full tilt you would need 4-5 d3100s or more alt output.

Thanks for the help!! What if I wanted to push that setup and be a little louder would FI Bls be able to handle that power at .5 ohms

I have seen BL 10s handle 2500 on music so I don't see why not.

Alright thats good to hear. Thanks for the help now I know who I can ask for help and advice lol.

No prob, and here is fritos honda with two bl 10s on addictive 5k, each seeing around 2500.

Hmmm ppl always told me to never push the BL over 2K

On the 15s 2k would be my limit for them, 10s you get a little more handling, was just sharing the vid really lol. But those amps wired at 2 ohm strapped you will see around 5k, so only 1250 per sub, so not a problem.

  6. LOL at this thread. Realistic I would say 4 red tops would be equal to one d3100.

Fine.... you got me... but he should still just get a 3100

Agreed, should just stay away from spiral agm batteries in general as a rule of thumb!!

Can you elaborate as to why we should stay away from spiral/Optima?

Watch that, ignore all the "unique" and marketing, but he explains why you should stay away from spiral cell batteries, better then I can.
