right right i realize that james, tahnks, but right now it sounds like a sort-of loud 8" midrange .... it's pretty quiet... but thanks airborne and all, once the ports come in ill get pics and everything and we'll hopefully be bumping along!

i know it'll sound better, any idea on loudness? and i just ordered 5 min ago from parts express, so should be here friday. i'll get pics

yes i know, he just wanted to throw it in to see how it looked/worked/etc if it moved, if the amp was working and stuff. i know he needs more power but i'm wondering if it'll be loud at all with the ports in .. sounds like it probably will it's a very stupid question but sometimes you hve to ask them to get answers

So I installed a DC LVL 3 D2 for my friend's Mazda the other day (trunk car where seats fold down) He has a Boss 600.2 (trying to get a new amp soon) I have it bridged.... I THINK at 4 ohm maybe 2.... I installed the sub and in the OLD box David built for me, tuned to 34 I think it's right around 3.5 cubes The sub doesn't play very loud at all, we havent put the ports in yet so obviously it's all messed up so there are just 2 empy 4" holes right now, precision ports should be in soon .... will it get much louder after the ports are in or are we at about the same volume but it'll sound better of course? I'm just wondering if we need much more power or if the ports will obviously clear things up ... stupid question i know but thanks!

thanks for all the support, thanks dr.db .... so if i do decide to swtich the brain out to DEI would i have to rewire everything? not that i would do it myself but if the shop found a problem with the brain and wanted to replace it, i could just pay for a viper one or something but no installation cost because it'd cost the same to put it in as another skytek one would? thanks guys

ok i'll take it back ... and as far as tint i dont remember when i did it .. few months ago fro sure i'll let u guys know. btw its workinga gain now, no clue why, but if its itnermittent i still wannat ake it back..

ok....hmm not sure if i want to spend money again though. is it as easy as just replacing the brain or would i have to re wire everything with installation charges? and what if the shop isn't REALLL reputable i mean they're ok...but could they mess it up more? thanks guys

sorry i suck at alarms. by fuses should i check the kick and the underhood? or something on the alarm? and if they're all good then i'm fucked haha?

local shop here installed it. and 1998 toyota camry ... everything is in the sig.. you think i should check fuses or you think i should get the shop to check it out?

btw this problem only happened today ... and my voltage is fine don't even ask! HO alt with 2 batteries ... and only 1.5kw

So today my alarm was acting funny. The warn away sensor goes off randomly sometimes (not very often) but the main thing is I just got home and locked the car using the remote and the alarm armed like normal but didn't lock the doors .... I tried resetting to factory defualts AND even tried valet mode none of which worked. The lock door button in the car (on the door panel, OEM) works fine and that's how I locked it. ... confused as to why the alarm arms but doors dont lock? Thanks Alarm is in sig

that quote is good for wire sizes ... just make sure to match your ground and power and that quote does NOT HOLD for FUSES use a proper fuse and you'll be good to go

he knows he wanted the DC Audio sub after hearing mine, so we ordered it. I just hope he doesn't have to buy a new amp. If he did, what amp would you guys suggest? Budget (very budget) is good ... if not, any ideas? sounds likea new amp is in order

thx bangin, thanks everyone else. i'll switch out RCAs sometime soon. i shot the gains up to a little over 1/2 and it's performing better, not getting smelly either (i haven't tried extendedd periods of time playing with it) i only got 2v preouts so we'll see..... thxx

thanks ill double check the rcas on the amp (haven't touched RCAs on HU in dayssss amp is not in protect because sub keeps playign? like the sub is still on, it's just like half te volume or something? so weird...

Weird .... last night I go to wire up my 2cd battery like I did before (just adding it in for the new front-facing setup) and now a few times a day my subwoofer just gets completely quieter. Like, I'll be playing U and Dat which has a steady beat to it and halfway into the song it just gets much much quieter. Sometimes it stays like that for awhile ... could this be caused by a bad grounding location? Amp overheating? Loose connections? Anyone had any of these simliar symtoms? Thanks... PS ...
