So today I ended up landing a second job. Been a long time coming, so I'm glad I got it. Don't know all the details yet, first day is tomorrow. I'll be working for Pasta House Company. Might use some of the extra income to complete my build, even tho I'll be ripping it out when I move sometime this year.

Has anyone looked for work in another state and gotten the job? If so how did you do it? I'm in the process of looking for work in Santa Rosa, Ca, but I live in Western Ky. I've found a school I want to attend. Still looking for a place, but I want to make sure I've got income before I find a place. I currently have a resume on careerbuilder.com and monster.com. Are there any other sites I should look in to? I have to find things that are preferably with in walking distance, wont have a car for a while when I get out there. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Construction is a no go, at least not with my heart problem. Working out in the heat and such would probly make me very sick or even dead. As far as your other suggestion, that could work if I knew some of ya better. But all in all this forum does have some of the best people I've met in a while. Who knows what the future will bring, btw the school I'm looking at is Empire College in Santa Rosa Ca. So ready to leave the state of Ky for good.

Dwright: I think I didn't get the job cause I have no experience in the field, I've only worked in restaurants since I was 16. Wonderbread: We might of had this convo before, don't remember...nothing personal. Got too much on my mind to keep track of what has been said and who said it. But yeah I'm sorta familiar with Sonoma, but I haven't been out there since 2003 so I know a lot has changed. Still tho, it's way better than out here in the middle of no-effin-where.

I'm not originally from Cali, but I did live in Sebastopol a few years ago. Really liked it out there, best place I've ever been and I've been a lot of places. Originally I'm from St Louis Mo.

Ok so I finally got more done about this new job and saldy got bad news. After taking a quiz online for the job I do not qualify. So looks like I'm stuck here for a little while longer. Oh well, maybe I'll find a decent job in time.

I know what ya mean, doesn't seem to matter what ya do God is going to find a way to crap on ya. I've got that same problem too, work my ass off and just 3 or 4 days before payday I'm flat broke. Thats just paying insurance and gas. But like they said keep ya head up cause one day something good will happen to ya. Good luck man, and hope that girl is alright...maybe ya should go see her in the hospital.

If I had more self confidence I would like to learn to sing better, I'm not bad but I'm not good either. As far as picking up the guitar again, I'd have to be self taught, that would be hard as hell. Can't afford leasons. N8 that was funny man. Purplehaze wasn't the purpose to learn how to play music to get the girls? lol. I'm sure there are more people on here with talent.

Ok so I know everyone on this site has a love for music or why else would we be here? So that got me wondering, does anyone here have any musical talent? I kinda think a few people on here are in a band or something, might be wrong but oh well if I am. Personally I took guitar lessons back in high school, but quit due to lack of time to practice. Thats one thing I regret for sure, my music teacher way back when said I had a beautiful voice. Fast forward to 2003, one night watchin Mtv with my g/f (yeah they was playin music vids, unheard of huh) anyways she was having a shitty week. So I decided against my better judgement that I would try to make her smile, just then her fav song came on. I got the idea to sing to her a few lines of that song. According to her that made her fall for me all over again, sadly we broke up 2 weeks later. Ok enough of that shit, anyone here got some real talent. I'm not gonna ask for proof just in case your shy like me.

I have noticed one thing with my recent post, it has less hits and replys than a post I made a while back where I was complaining. Find it strange, but whatever. Hopefully after 1 tomorrow afternoon, I should know more bout this great opportunity. Also a bit nervous considering that I have only worked in restaurants and this would be my first job in a different field. Like I said tho, this is a great opportunity for me and I will do what it takes to get it.

I should know more in less than 24 hours! Great now I probally wont get any sleep...oh wait thats nothin new lol.

So far not seeing a downside, well I wont have a car for a while but hell I need some excercise.

Ok so quick update. I called the guy at AT&T back today and explained the situation. He said it was no problem and told me what I needed to do. I have to email my resume to the general manager, and here locally to where I am I have to take a drug test. They will also be running a back ground check on me, I know both drug test and back ground check will come back clean. So if everything goes right, they will get me out there and pay for my hotel for up to a month which will give me time to locate a place of my own. I've got all my fingers crossed and shit, so lets all hope I get this job.

True, I do need a change of scenery. The risk part is what scares me to be honest. Maybe I should look into motels or something.

I think things are going in the right direction with my move back to Cali, I got a phone call earlier with a job offer with AT&T. They are opening a new store some where in Sonoma County. I don't know where yet cause I still got to call the guy back, but I do know that this would be a good job. My little brother has worked for AT&T in St Louis for a few years now, I know he likes it. I may have a slight problem, as of now I don't have a place to call home out there. Course it maybe possible to get the interview over the phone, but really don't think thats how they want to do things. It's just crazy how I'm currently looking for more work here where I'm at, and yet I get a call from another state I'm planning on moving too. Should I call back even tho I don't have everything going yet or what....I honestly don't know what to do.

I agree gotta act upon my words, but at my age I can't put school off much longer.

I'm sure I will be..after all computers have always been an interest of mine.
