  1. it would be best to get another battery and an upgraded alternator as to get less voltage drop. what kind of battery do you have?

I want to buy a FAM 120AH (it's an Italian battery) about this battery all people here talk good about this product.(his price is 255 euros)

    this model (120AH) has 1800A

I can't get an XS because in my country there is no importers.

  2. Hey guys,

i want to change my amplifier because the massive audio p1500 is really crap as watt.

So i want to buy a Sundown 2500D for my Fi BL 15" to run at 1.4ohm.

i listen to hip hop\rap music(lil jon,e-40,young jeezy and etc..,and sometimes dubstep\chillstep, so what i need is low and quality loud bass

I hear really good opinions about this amp.

Do you recommend it? it's really a good amp? and it put out real power? i also read that the new sundown 2500d do 2700watt at 1.4ohm.

  3. Ok,BassMonsterZ you have 4.3 cubic feet but gross volume not net that is you are not accounting for port and sub displacement so your net volume is like 3 cubes tuned to 40Hz, probably higher. I guess this is going to a trunk car because of the dims you use.

I can provide a design (in metric units) for you if you give me the max dimensions you have for a box or you can use the tools and tutorials available here on SMD to make your own.

    Thanks for your answers :)

This is just a prototype, i don't own a car (to place the box in my car i want to remove the rear-seats) yet. (i will get the car this september, i already got all the components, i just need the car now :D )

With this box i'm just starting to make me an idea of what the box can be.

Can i have a your contact like msn or skype , or just an e-mail?

so when i get the car i'll contact you for a good box project...

    (if you do not mind)

  4. I'd prefer to have the external dimensions of the box to issue an opinion, also you need know the thickness of the wood you have available or again maybe you won't get what you are looking for.

My thought is 0.9" of thickness for the box walls and 0.7" for the port wall.

And i think the external dimensions are approximated to this:

    Box width: 24,8"

    Box Height: 20,8"

    Box length: 17,8"

  5. Hi all,

i just need some advice about the air port for my Fi Bl 15" box.

the box is about 4.4 cu.ft tuned to 33hz and the sub will be moved by a massive audio p1500.1

Here is a picture of my project:

The measure in the picture are in meters

so you have just to change this:

Green line is about 3.9 inches (air port width)

Red line is about 28.7 inches (air port lenght)

Yellow line is about 16.5 inches (Air port height)

The thickness of the air port is about 0.7 inches

    boxwv.png

What do you think? the port is too big or it can be good?

With this port i will be able to make some hair tricks and get loud low bass?

and can you tell me also if a thickness of 0.9 inches is good for the box walls?

  6. Hi,

I already have a build but it's not a car build but a "car-home build" (i have car audio components in my room, powered by a 12v battery)

But finally in August i reach the age to take the driving license.

Unfortunately where i live a FI BL 15" cost as an Fi BTL N2 18" :(

Anyway here are my intention for my first build in my first car:

Subwoofer: FI BL 15" (2012 series) D2 wired to 1 ohm

    Subwoofer amplifier: Massive Audio P1500.1

    Woofers: Massive Audio SK5

    Woofers amplifier: Massive Audio P200.2

    Stereo: JVC-KDR611

Here are the steps that i want to follow:

    September:

    1. Get the car
    2. Take the measure from the car trunk for the subwoofer box
    3. Take the car to an installer to edit the doors with the new speakers and link some wires.
    4. Make the subwoofer Box. (I already have done a prototype for the box it will be tuned to 32-33hz and about 4.2cu.ft)
    5. Make a removable system for the subwoofer box (Because my garage is busy by dad car sometimes and i want to avoid thieft...)
    6. Get the new battery
    7. Install amplifiers
    8. Play the system :)

I also done a quick video of my sub, nothing of special, just a sort of unboxing:
