  1. Titebond. (What series/line/ flavor?)*

    1 5/8" Drywall screws.

    A drillbit.

    And about 1 1/2 hrs.

50/50 between the two boxes still.

    * Liquid Nails has Extra Strength, Normals Stregth, ETC.

titebond 3 ftw, 1 3/4 screws for a lil extra bite, a pilot hole bit (slightly smaller than screw diameter for a tight fight, and maybe counter sink the holes and flush it all up a lil) oh and prolly gonna take more than an hour and a half too.

  2. i plan on going around and adding some sealer on top of what they have... no such thing as to strong

any predictions for db range (i kno its not good to predict, bad luck) but still wanna hear ur input

you should definately be in the 130+ range with that much power and a set of dc 10's. I have a friend that did a 126 with a single 10 and 100wrms in a sealed box, so think if you have 2 10's thats around 3dbs for doubling cone area and prolly 5 more for having that much more power.

  3. I have painted subs myself and found not one single thing wrong with it, it sounded good and lasted. You know how to properly prep a truck for paint, so don't slouch on preping the sub and you will have a lasting paint job. Also if you armorall your interior, you should clean the subs a few extra times because the silicone floating around and all from spraying it. just my two cents though.

  4. hey guys, i need some help with my speakers in my mustang. i have a pioneer deh-p5900ib head unit, 8 speakers throught the car. there are 2 kicker 4in in the dash, 6.5 polks in the doors, 2 kicker tweeters right above the door frame right in your ear, and 2 polk 6/9s in the rear.

i know the polks have to go, but it doesnt seem like theres enough output to be able to hear them with subs. i like bass but i like my stereos well rounded, i like hearing everything. i didnt install the stereo in my car it came with the speakers only and no wires at all ran for the speakers. i got all the wiring done and put in the head unit and it sounds good but it seems like it really lacks for haveing 8 speakers and having the tweeters right in your ear. i dont know if he has the crossover set up for the tweeters so it might not be getting the right frequency, i had the wires and recever installed at circuit city because it was free for everything all they charged me was for the reciever. the guy who i baught the car from said he ran amps to the speakers, i dont know wheather to do this or not. i really dont know a lot about speakers so would the amp add output or clarity? if i hooked up an amp to them would it make them louder or just make them distort? there is no distortion at all right know other than the passenger door speakers blown

im planning on getting a single 12 fi q with probably a cheep hifonics amp or if i have the patience to wait get a us amps md1. would this be a good match?

Yes absolutely, you should run an amp on mids and highs if you want them to go loud, also set up your amp to be loud at lower volume so you don't have distortion if that makes sense. the reason you aren't getting loud now is that there is too much of a draw on your headunit for 8 speakers, I have an 89 trunk (check it out if you want) and I only run the 3.5s in the dash off the HU, and the 6.5 2-ways and 5x7 2-ways off of an alpine 4-ch amp, and let me tell you this, I never turn it over 1/2 volume cuz its way loud. I would definately opt for the Fi Q and a hifonics bxi1606 if you want to keep the price low, but you might be a lil louder off that amp with the SSD. Hope I helped in some way.

  5. I completely feel your pain, I have done it too, thats whay I had to notch the back for the trunk spring and 45 the top corners so that the trunk would close because I measured way too close on my box in my mustang. If the box is just too big for the opening, try designing the box so that it could be sectioned and assembled in the trunk like chevyboy said, unless you can afford the airspace to angle it so that you can fit it in or something along those lines.

  6. well it was easy to do the 8 6.5's to the amp at 2 ohm, but now ive got more 6.5's and the 4 tweets im starting to confuse myself ect.

    mids will consist of 12 6.5's single 4 ohms @ 50wrms each

    and 4 1inch tweets unknown ohm's @ 50wrms

for a total of 16 speakers total, i can get a 4ch amp and run 4 speakers per ch, and have 1 tweeter on each ch, so it will be 3 6.5 and 1 tweet per ch.... and thats 1ohm or 4ohm? if the tweet is also 4ohm....

i think i answerd my own question but can someone double check and makesure im on the rite track, and or should i run my tweets on a seperate amp from the mids? and 200 wrms x4 shouldnt be a hard amp to find with a nice built in adjustable xover... i hope

I always check at the12volt.com, they have a parallel and series calculator, it would be .8ohms parallel and 20ohms series, so that might be a lil difficult to achieve unless you used a crossover on one 6.5 and tweet to seperate the power and still pull 4 ohms, and that would be 4x4oms=1ohm paralleled. If that helps any.

  7. I lost my gramps last week, and have always been a big scrooge because I used to be lucky to get nething for christmas and never got to be with all my family at one time because they live so far away. So I ain't hatin on christmas for what it stands for, but for what it does to my spirit every year, I always feel in the dumps at this time of year. That is until all the drinking on new years starts and I forgetaboutit.

  8. So I just ordered my 18" Fi fully loaded BL and I can't decide what amp I want. My friend from school told me that the Sundown Audio 1500d is a damn good amp for it and I can get a refurbed one for 350. 1500 watts RMS. Any ideas on what would be a good amp? I want to push the sub with the best amp i can get for 380....please help me. :)))))

You should try the rockford t10001bd like they said, it benches at about 1500 rms and you can get a new one off ebay for that price, or you could get a refurbed one for a lil less and save a few bucks. Also ebay has mtx elite te1501d for 388 plust 30 shipping, I have heard good things about them too.

  9. Steve is my hero, lol. I am like most people on this site, not one to hate, just here to learn from all the combined experience and knowledge this site has to offer. I for one am dissapointed in the azzhole that posted that because he didn't try to be friends with Steve and maybe learn from him, and even Steve takes tips from people, you can't ever know enough right? But, yeah someone needs to light a bag of crap on that dudes doorstep for hidin behind his computer and callin out Steve like that.

  10. the s2000s are nice cars and decently fast but for the money there is better out.

X2 I love the looks of the s2k but I drove my friends lil ss cobalt (faster than my stang too) and waxed the ass of an s2k on the interstate, once he squated and took off, I crammed it down in 3rd, dumped the clutch and boosted the hell out of it, leaving the honda sad and in the rearview lol. But nice car though.
