tire wear
craniumcrackinbassv2 replied to HotRodHam's topic in Wheels and Tires - The rubber hits the road here!
if you lowered or raised your car that will seriously throw the allignment off. also hitting speed bumps and potholes to hard will throw it off. i had my tsx on a some coilovers and when i took them off my allignment was really bad. -
so can any1 help me out on this. i have been looking all over the internet on how to actually design a sub box using the t/s perms. from a subwoofer. i have a 15'' l7 and they say 4.5cubes with 40'' of port area is ideal, but what math goes into figuring out the dimensions of the box? how do you figure out how to make a box for a specific subwoofer...please pm me if youre willing to help. thanks.

wire colors.
craniumcrackinbassv2 replied to craniumcrackinbassv2's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
ahh alright just wondering i have a very simple setup. im only running a rft1kcp but i wanted to do the B3. but thanks again guys -
do wire colors even matter anymore? people tell me always ground with black wire and to use blue or red wire for power, but on knukon. all their kolossus flex wire is ground/power wire...so would be ok to just use all black or all red? just wondering.

i currently have 1 RFt1k ( new model ) running off a stock batt and a stock alt. which is obviously too much power for the battery because a little bit of acid is on one of the terminals so my questions are. since that amp doesn't have that much power would the acid leaks stop if i just bought another battery and use it as a primary? something like a yellow top. or should i buy the yellow top and put it in the back? which leads to my next question if i were to do that would strapping another stock alt even work to charge those 2 batteries..

most efficient port.
craniumcrackinbassv2 replied to craniumcrackinbassv2's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
i took the tuning and the box size into account but not the port area...just wondering because i'm doing a sealed trunk build now and from what i've seen, people that do SPL shows and what not use aero ports and people that just seal it for the hell of it have a rectangular port. that goes for most people that go for TL numbers though if you look at the sundown audio vids on youtube the guys that test them use aero ports, thor has used an aeroport and a few others that go for number use them....but i guess i just answered the question i was going to ask lol -
does port design have ANYTHING to do with how the bass sounds? ex. i had a kicker 12'' l7's a while back with a round port that had somewhat of a cleaner sound, i have a friend with the same system with a port that runs along side the sub. the port is 12'' tall and about 2 1/2 inches wide and it sounds a little different. or does it not even matter?

alright. everything is all measured up and ready to go, but what are the steps in doing so? i have a few questions before i start this build. #1 will my stock speakers that are in the back need to be baffled? #2 will i have more bass than if i were to just say face the subs back and the port back? #3 what are the pros and cons of facing them forwards? #4 since this is the first system that im doing alone is this one that you guys think is too much for me? since i have no install experience. i have a few more so if you can please help me out that would be greatly appreciated!
