  1. My bad. It appears that the 13w6v2 is a 12" sub. I am going to have to look around more. Sorry for the error. Edit: The W0v2 15" sub looks promising. It will handle the power of the McIntosh amp nicely. I will have to go give these and others a listen before I make my final decision. Cheers,
  2. Team DC Derrick - No, you are not reading it correctly. I plan on one 300w mono block amp to each of three subs = 3 amplifiers and one 100w stereo amp to the front end. So, as you can see, four amplifiers totaling 1kw. Cheers,
  3. Ok, guys, small change. I would like to add one more McIntosh 300 watt amp for a total of 1000watts hooked up to a 15" JL Audio 13w6v2 sub. Does this alter anything power wise? I will be doing the "Big three" of course and am planning on running one of the 3100 batts up front as well as one in the back by the amps. Zero gauge power and ground wires run to batts and amps. Thanks again, P.S. Tentative starting place for xover is the following: 15" sub -- 40hz and below 10" subs -- 40hz to 150hz 6.5" midbase -- 150hz - 750hz 4" mid -- 750hz to 10khz tweets -- 10khz and up.
  4. Greetings all, I am building a new sound system in my 1996 Impala SS. I will be running 700 watts RMS of MacIntosh amplifier power total. My plan is to run one XS Power 3100 battery in the trunk with the amps and would like to know if I will need more than the stock alternator to power the car/sound system. I have a feeling that I am pretty close to the limit on what a stock alt will handle. Thanks in advance, SQPunk
