  1. any alt power??

Stock 80a rewound to ~120a. Nothing special. Keeps up though. Never go under 11.5.

New port too, still haven't installed t-nuts. Audibly louder. Sounds even more so amazing down low, even though I'm tuned higher. I think it made a huge difference going external with the porting too.

Old one has all the screws in it (6x6x10, made tuning ~45hz), new one is on top (7x7x10, makes tuning ~52 IIRC)

  2. Got one of the ports in & playing today. Did a little playing on the Term Lab & got the Flukes out.

    My Atomic 3k clamped 1395wrms @ 3.9ohm.. 4x rise. Not terrible.. but still :(

Waiting on Term Lab pictures to be sent to me.

The panels will literally bolt onto the front panel with different tuning configurations.

    Here are the port pieces:

    4ekFq.jpg

One is 45hz tuning' date=' one is 50 something & the other is purely for SPL. I have all the tunings written down at work.. but I'm posting from home.

Don't have the electrical to run 2 amps @ .5 ohm. I wouldn't trust the Onyx series @ .5 to begin with. The Discus, yes. Onyx, no way.[/quote']

Keep in mind this is my FIRST shot at any port in this box. A lot of testing and tinkering is going to be done here so these numbers are definitely just a starting point. I have already gained from my ported' date=' however.

    Legal score @ 32 hz

Mic on the dash, driver door open @ 32 hz

    FRQHO.jpg

30 second average on music. Take a look at the peak frequency.. 29 hz. Whole 30 seconds was 28-34 hz. Everything above that was car noise.

Haven't had much motivation lately. Life has been throwing me some curve balls & I've been having to eat some shit sandwiches recently so audio has been low on the priority list. Here are some minor things I've done recently.

Swapped out the TC Sounds 6.5s for some Memphis MSync 6.5s (I'm going to finish the door pods come spring and yes I know the ST350s are FILTHY):

    uv72o.jpg

    ONlLJ.jpg

Moved the 4 channel into the spare tire well for the time being. Going to build a beauty panel to put over the top of it when I GAF about looks:

    VFeeh.jpg

Added ~160aH to the trunk in form of 2 new batteries. May not be the best batteries' date=' but they were freebies & are better than the one I had in there:

    wN63c.jpg

Also cleaned up all the wiring in the trunk. Once everything becomes more "permanent" (lolyeahright) the rat's nest will get cleaned up even more:

  4. If you set your gains correctly there should be no difference assuming each unit is designed to run between 2 and 4 v . Now, the 4v will give you more potential output but not really more clean output. The gain is used to match the amp output to the preamp voltage it would mean with a 2v preamp the gains will be set higher than with the 4v preamps.

This pretty much sums it up.

  5. That 4th order will fit in the trunk, right?? Looks fucking huge! But it should get pretty gnarly once you get it playing!

I did a TON of cutting to fit it. I had cut once before to fit the last enclosure which was ~6.2 before any displacements. This one is ~8 before displacements. The walls & woofers drop it to about 6. When I do aeros in my dummy baffle it will drop the ported lower.. but that is all a part of the grand scheme.

  6. cKjfz.jpg

The lines represent where the panel will be mounted on the front of the box, the red smudges represent the panels the t nuts will be sunk into along with utilizing the 3/4" lip from the top & bottom panel for a good seal.

I'll just seal the trunk off BEHIND the dummy panel so that it doesn't "unseal" the trunk per-say when I swap panels.

Kind of a jank drawing but I'm sure you get the general idea.

  7. My car seems to peak extremely low.. so my goal is to break a 50 by summer. If I don't do it with this box.. it's on to the next. LOL. The interchangeable port should help a LOT when it comes to metering, however. Gonna be able to try different aero port configurations, slots, whatever I want really. I've got some 10" I'm itching to use.. but haven't crunched the numbers yet to see if it'll work.

  8. Started on the enclosure yesterday.

    Starting on the baffles:

    Done:

    Dry fit:

    Building sealed chambers:

    Back wall added:

    hGpN8.jpg

    Bottom added and sealed up:

    pfxH9.jpg

    tGf2L.jpg

Sub cutouts are just a tad too small, didn't think to check that before hand lol. High grit sandpaper or a small runover with a router should do the trick. Gonna wait to put the top on for ease of dropping woofers in. Its not impossible to add/remove them with the top panel on but its just gonna be 100x easier with it off.

Going to try a port with 2x2s first, then gonna play with different size aeroports with a removable front baffle. It'll be interchangable for music/SPL/whatever.

  9. Took some videos & scores before pulling it all out to build the 4th order blow through.

Did some work this weekend.. pulled it all out to prep for the new enclosure. Got the body saw out & did some work in the rear deck to fit this new beast of a box. My poor car hates me. I'm getting new suspension in the rear to handle the added weight too. I gained close to 3" just taking it all out so I figure I probably oughta handle that.

A little testing before taking the existing setup out.. this score is w/the 4 SA10s @ 1 ohm on the Atomic 3k in ~5 cubes @ 33hz. Driver door open, mic on the dash.

    Before:

    yWvIT.jpg

    Half way there:

    7aXWp.jpg

    After:

    Bo0YY.jpg

A little bit of pretty work to be done to the rear deck still.. but it'll happen when the enclosure goes in & I either glass it in or seal it off w/wood & wrap it.

Here is the new box design:

    dsIhf.jpg

Port will be firing into the cabin of the vehicle & sealed off from the trunk.
