as longa s you have intenally 3.25 cu ft, and wnat it tuned to 40hz, your fine, you need what, port length?
-
HAHAHAHHAA Thanks Tracey =] Ana sayes Hello too
HI back at ya all! Miss ya all, hope to see you this year, somewhere.
-
Are you the Rusty I keep hearing such good things about?
I doubt it..........................
j/k Hey Rusty
-
ported... im having a box made for them
be sure, if it has one, to have the SSF on, set the gain with a DMM, check and double check, listen for problems since you are running that much power, ported, daily...
-
a good simple first question.....how do you plan to install these, sealed or ported?
-
still has venting, just moved the vents up b the spider landing, more motor strength.
amps, mostly cosmetics
-
support those, whom support the sport
DC
-
if you daisy chain or strap your amps, yes, it 'should' work...
-
thanks for that link, i guess i will play it safe with my investment , just crapy they didnt make the big dogs safe at 1ohm, i guess its somthing to do with warrenty and haveing alot of bstock to sell because of people running the amps at 1 and burning them up and kicker haveing to fix them , so if they say 2 ohm and you take a risk the person is smart enough not to risk the amp but buy more of them to do what that one amp could have done,..... great marketing, designs and sales rite there lol
actually, has nothing to do with warranty,etc....
here'sd the deal...lower impedance adds usually more dirty signal, more power, yet more heat, wear and tear, and will be less effecient and draw more cuurent.
Amp a has 2000 watts at 2 ohm
Amp b has 2000 watts at 1 ohm
the 1 ohm will draw more current, then amp A.
if you NEED 1 ohm, maybe other amp option would be best, but if you start building you system, designed to compliment each other, set them to run 2 ohm daily, and jam on...
-
glad you all like it....
-
that's even like the 2nd or 3rd gen Original Kicker...there were some even older..
-
the solo-x's have power handling issues. they are overrated. good woofers just overrated
well that's a tad TOOOOOOOOO vague....like saying any woofer had blowing issues, without taking enclosure, power, voltage, etc into the equation....
done right, no, they do not have issues, playing too much power, clipping, below tuning, they can blow...........like any other subwoofer.

sorry, no ZX460's
many love the new stuff, you always have people whom like it, and always have people whom don't....
-
for estimates, call 405-624-8510
-
bad listings then, there will never be a ZX2500 do 5000, or even 7000 watts...
-
I still have a ZR360 myself^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Tracy/
Gary Biggs has an *XS/100* on E/Bay right now For Sale/
.The whole amp is *Polished Up*...sweet!!
I'd love to get that one... just to collect. There's a ZR/600 also on E/Bay for sale.I like very much for my car.
I'm *thinking* about selling some of my ZX/460 Amps/ 1~ZR/360/And maybe 1 of the ZR/240's.
I'm using 2~ZR/1000's for the Subs. But was thinkin' of using ZR/600's for the rest of the System and 1~ZR/120
for Center chn.w/ 5.1 Surround.I'm leanin' that way...but would have to know I could find the ZR/600's w/Polished HeatSinks first/
Or "maybe" Sand the heatsink tops down so they look like Kicker done them/
.
The one on E/Bay looks nice.I wish I knew how to do picz on the 'Puter too.
I love those old school ZR/ZX Amps.
Kind Regards/
Raymond
Love them old skool...
-
yes, hey Raymond....how them ZR's treating ya?/
Hello Tracy/
This is Ray...the guy that you had the *Kicker Key Chains* for.
Nice to see you here too/
.I just joined...and it looks like a Nice Forum.Take Care.
Kind Regards/

they arent expensive enough to make it worthwhile
actually, we DO recone subs, but when someone sends one in for warranty, they get another brand new one, and WE recone the sub. But we do not sell recone kits direct.
-
the L7's will play from 18hz, to 28hz depending on size...just how 'low' do you mean?
-
when new, glue smell can be common. After break in is done, and you still smell coil, re-adjust and lower gains.
-
L7 kills the W7 in SPL all Day EVERY Day, W7 will kill the L7 in SQ EVERY Day of the week and twice on sundays.
on certain installs, I agree, and dis-agree. Back in the day, it was good to see huge 'high-end' installers compete for the HUGE SQ awards head to head. Sometimes it was round, sometimes it was square.
-
the square subs = more cone area = louder, BUT also...the square subs arent as linear, so the sound gets a little more distorted than round subs. if i read that info right. i used to have an 18" solo x. it was more of a hassle than anything. it was beefy and cool at first, but you wont have fun taking it in and out of the box. plus i hear they have some internal problems. so i'd pick the L7 or the BTL imo
Xmech, as long as the driver stays within 'mechanical limits' whether round or square, will last and product about the same.
There isn't any 'internal problems' with the X woofers, other than it took longer to get the new revised ones in, but we see hige improvments on the new 07 X cones.
-
Having that extra 20% cone area does little when you have a sub with only like 12mm XMAX. The W7 runs rings around the L7 as far as usable throw goes.
ah, but Xmax is not everything, remeber the Strokers? Plus, with the T-cut top plate on the L7's and L5's, the Xmax 'rating' is far under what it really has.
Usable throw, you need power, power needs current,etc,etc...

yes sir, CES it is...haha... what do peas and pods have to do with alts and batteries
I assume your alt is still getting the job done?
See you at CES!
