  1. Im jealous for sure man, I think it would be awesome to work at a gun shop.

thanks man... but its not just a gun shop... we're also a manufacturer, we can build full auto weapons, restore de milled weaponry, suppressors, you name it, we are licensed to make it. We are working on getting some local LEO business so we have an excuse to build some really fun shit. Only issue is we are currently looking for a suitable location for testing of true full auto weapons, as my private-owned club does not allow them on site other than for a couple select events. Im am working with the powers that be there to get an "exemption" from that rule for our purposes. The club is out in Amish country, the yoders might freak when they hear the ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-tat of a full auto. Lol.

  2. Congrats man thats awesome so whats the discount on ammo like?

If they're like many smaller shops, he'd be better buying WWB from walmart.

Actually no. First, I am now loading my own ammo so its a moot point. Second, you're wrong, our prices on ammo are better than the local walmart, for better quality ammo no less. Plus with being a licensed manufacturer, we can make and sell our own ammo at a price point we set if we so choose, which is in the works. Thanks though.

  3. ... and, I'm waiting on a lone wolf threaded barrel and some suppressor height sights, so we can begin pre-production builds on 9mm cans... I get to be the test dummy for the couple different designs bossman has in the works.

Look out Red Jackoffs. Gonna be a new player in town real soon, with great products, and a non-overinflated price tag.

  4. Congrats man thats awesome so whats the discount on ammo like?

I can get it at our cost. Anything I want, I get for our cost. But in terms of ammo... well with all the shit we have at the shop, it doesnt look like Ill be buying ammo much if at all... we "roll our own".

This weekend we are taking a trip down to my gun club to run a couple of fresh built AK's through their paces, this pair ( which I need to get photos of) was built to the customers specifications, all poly furniture, 14.5 inch barrels with pinned/welded brakes, "tactical black" duracoat over parkerized finish, slide fire stocks... should be fun to let them loose. Also wrapped up a .308 AR build earlier this week, sent that home with it's new owner last night. Woot.

  5. Asking for a buddy of mine. Do you guys have a keltek sub 2000 that takes glock 9mm rounds? He's been dying for it lol.

We currently do not have any sub200's in stock. I can look into getting one, but we are located in Ohio. Your buddies best bet would be to check out armslist.com or perhaps a local retailer.

  6. <<<<<<< THIS GUY!

It's a newer shop in my area, owned and operated by a friend of mine. We are a fully licensed manufacturer. Theres a full retail store, selling a wide selection of firearms from all major manufacturers, we also just became a licensed DPMS and STAG dealer as well. We offer full gun smithing services, repairs, customization... from a simple rifle bedding to an all out custom whatever you want. Production has just begun on our in house built line of AK's, and we currently have a pretty full plate with several verrrryyyy high end AR platform builds going on, along with a bunch of small odds and ends jobs and repairs, and my little pet project, a Para P13.45 thats getting a little bit of customization done and a full refinish for a friend of mine. Also just got the paperwork from the ATF to begin production of suppressors (yup, you read that right). So I went from building/ smithing as a hobby to a great way to have my shooting addiction pay for itself. The best thing about this job, is the access I know have to things so many people will never get to play with. Suppressors, full autos, high end custom shit, .50's..... Its just awesome. The website is still in the works, once it is up and running, Ill post up a link. And Ill get some pics taken of what we have going on and make a thread in a couple days!!!

  7. ... Furthermore, in my opinion, anyone, anyone at all, that tries to modify or take away the rights we are granted in the Constitution, is a threat to the safety of the American people. A domestic terrorist if you will. And if I am presented with such a person, they will be dealt with accordingly, regardless of the uniform they are wearing or the "agency" they represent. Any force, foreign or domestic that poses a threat to the well being of the masses will be met with a ferocity most are not accustomed to seeing in tame men. There are still some watchdogs looking out for the sheep. I know which side of the fence I am on, do you?

  8. That is an excellent point sir. I don't really see this while thing going through. I feel like its going to get shot down like the internet censorship thing. Which makes me realize. This administration has tried more than any other to turn this country into a socialist over bearing country.

The Obama administration is the MOST UNAMERICAN presidency we have ever had. Period. This dude is about as unamerican as you can get, doesnt even pledge to the flag for the country he runs. Theres still things about his birth certificate that don't add up, go on youtube and look up when Michelle Obama was at a function and whispered to her hubby " all this for a damn flag?".... Obama is a piece of shit. He wants to destroy this country. He has repeatedly lied to the people ( during his campaign, promising to have all our troops home within the first year of his presidency, promising obamacare was NOT a tax), waffled on any of the things he said he was going to do that were actually good, he is trying to strip away our rights one by one. He is a terrible leader. I firmly believe the UN arms treaty wont have an effect on us, but I think Nobama is going to try and introduce a seperate brady-bill esque assault weapons ban as his last big hu-rah before he is kicked out of office at the end of this year.

If you voted for Obama in the last election to prove you weren't a racist, please vote for someone else in this election to prove you arent a retard. Unamerican Muslims should lead unamerican muslim countries, not the USA.

  9. its not gonna matter when Obama signs the United Nations Arms Treaty..........................

After he has signed the Treaty, Obama could use the “object and purpose” language of the Vienna Convention as an excuse to strictly adhere to all provisions contained in the Arms Treaty itself! And use Harry Reid to hold off a Senate vote on the treaty indefianatly.

He would be free to use the corrupt DOJ to enforce any and all United Nations mandates for the registration of guns, the licensing of owners, the regulation of sales, transport or usage—anything!

The United Nations has taken great pains to make certain that no specific Treaty language has made its way to the American public, but a Spanish representatives made clear its “object and purpose” when he said the UN “… will be happy to honestly contribute to reduce their number (weapons), [and] to regulate buying and sell of arms…”

If this is what the completed Treaty hopes to achieve—and we can bet it will be—Barack Obama will have signed onto the most anti-gun rights document in the nation’s history.

Let Obama sign it, just because he signs it, doesnt mean jack shit. It still has to then be ratified by the Senate, which will never happen. The NRA has lobbied hard and has a majority of the senate on their side to oppose the ATT. More players than Obama are involved in making that treaty a reality for us, and a majority of those players are strongly opposed to it. Not to mention the pure logistics of trying to disarm the American populace is almost impossible to achieve. We have many more people, and many more guns than the whole military combined. If/when the time comes that they tried to take our guns, every pro gun advocate stood their ground and truly fought back, it would become so painfully not worth their effort, they would give up. Some may have to give to ultimate price to defend this right, but after a short time, it would not be worth it to the agents, grunts, whoever involved if several of them died every time they had to go into a house to take guns. Come try to take my shit and see what happens. they can only shoot 1 of me, but I guarantee at least a few of them are going out with me. Now multiply that by 1000, and suddenly there is not such an overwhelming force ready to walk up to a door and get shot at. Our right to own guns is given to us by the documents that laid the framework for our country. Those rights were granted to protect us not only from criminals, but also from an unjust, tyrannical government as well. As Thomas Jefferson once said

" The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, is to protect themselves from tyranny in the government." Our founding fathers allowed us this right to protect ourselves from the same things that caused the American Revolution. Gun control will be a big mistake for anyone trying to do the controlling.

  10. Bobby, the RIA's are absolutely entry level 1911's, what makes them entry level is the amazing price point. What makes their price point amazing, is the great quality of the pistol for what you pay. The fancy finish isnt there, and some little things need addresses in my opinion, but the are a fantastic pistol, that functions well...amazingly well when you factor in their cost. This is from my first hand experience, as I have owned 2 RIA 1911's, Charles Daly EMS 1911, A Kimber Custom 2, A Taurus PT 1911, and a Norinco. Not to mention, In addition to owning all of the above at one time or another, I have also shot Les Bear, Wilson, Nighthawk and Christensen 1911's. So, in my unofficial opinion, I'd venture to say I can speak with a little authority on the subject. The Rocks were, by far, my favorite of the bunch.

  11. or you could teach them the proper method of handling firearms and teach them to respect the firearm and that its not a toy. teaching them that guns are bad is not the answer.

This. My 8 year old has better range behavior than some of the long term members of my gun club. Kids has handled and shot nearly everything I own, know how to safety check and clear many types of weapons from revolvers to pistols to bolt guns... He is respectful and cautious of firearms, never touches one without asking, and when told he can touch it, he immediately checks/ clears it. Good muzzle control, in terms of not waiving it all over and keeping them in a safe direction. Education is usually the cure for stupid.

  12. 15 extra for a background check? Isnt like that around here, ATF form is free as part of buying the gun. Wtf state are you in? 135 plus tax is not such a great deal. Not for a 91/30. Check out " www.armslist.com" look up your state on there (if private owner sales are legal) and buy one that way for around 100 bucks. Or go to a gun show.

BTW, the Mosins are fun as shit to shoot. Plus if you want to learn about things like barrel shortening and doing a re-crown on it, big dieal, its a 100 dollar gun. I gave mine a once over, milled off the bolt, bent up a custom longer one and welded it on, gave it a "homebrew" trigger job that smoothed it out and added a spring to take all the loose slack out of the trigger when its cocked. Refinished the stock, and threw a cheap optic on the dove tail where the original rear sight was, scout rifle style All pretty much free or cheap...

  13. I've been eyeing a saiga 12 and really thinking hard on it. Also a 10/22 tactical as well. Ammo costs mean its time to horde ammo and shoot cheap shit

If you have the cash go for it, I am impressed with the limited time Ive had saiga products in my hands, especially when you factor in the cost. Which "Tactical" model 10/22 are you eyeing? the standard tactical, or the Target tactical, the reg tactical model is nothing to write home about, just a blued carbine with a synthetic stock and a mini-14 muzzle break.. the target tactical on the other hand, is a mucho nicer rifle..16inch bull barrel, hogue overmold stock, bipod... I wouldve bought one of those in a heart beat, but there are none to be found local, this standard target model I scored is a great option to look into as well.. 20 inch hammer forged stainless bull barrel, laminated stock, better than the regular trigger, polished bolt, much nicer fit and finsh than the regular 10/22 carbine I have. Much.

And I feel you on ammo costs, especially now that Im shooting more and more... luckily I have only a few calibers to worry about so its pretty eay to stock pile shit. Ive been buying 9mm like its going out of style, 2 local shopd still have decent 9mm at ~10 bucks a box. I dont shoot my .45 to much and I have ~400 ish rds for it... So the focus has been on 9mm and now .223 for when my Saiga comes home. I try to have several hundred rounds for all calibers on hand at all times... the ones I like to shoot a lot, I keep it well into the 4 digits.

  14. Ill have pics of one last firearm I paid for in about a week or so... Saiga AK variant in .223/5.56, hate the "sporter" look and feel they have to have in order to be imported, having a nice conversion done on it (922.r compliant) to make it look and feel the way it should. Might also have a nice dura coat job done on it as well....

Been thinkin about trying some 3 gun stuff too... Fun Fun Fun.

  15. Well with the nice weather back and a renewed interest in shooting, well not really renewed, just been shooting even more lately, I have kinda chilled on spending money on the car and decided to add a few new toys to the "armory".

    newtoys.jpg

    Newtoys2.jpg

I Already own one of these, a basic carbine model, with a few tweaks.. was planning on buying a new stock for it and a bull barrel, but I was at my buddies shop the other day and he offered me a great deal on a brand new 10/22 Target model, I couldn't pass on it, so it found its way home with me. For now I picked up a Bushnell Banner 4x16x40 and some rings for it. its getting zero'd in tomorrow at our favorite shooting spot... going to bore sight it at 25, dial it in at 100, and then start playing around at 200yds.

    10-22Tclose.jpg

Barrel is damn stout. Hammer forged, .920 diameter, stainless. Beef.

    10-22barrel.jpg

Also picked up a couple of pistols in the past few days as well, nothing to fancy just some guns to have fun with and the 1911 is what Ill be using in a local "race" series. nothing serious, more of a fun way to have a lil competition when shooting..

    nines.jpg

This is a Rock Island MAP1, which is the exact same gun as a Tanfoglio/EAA witness...or if you want, a CZ75 clone, in 9mm.

Great feel to it, easy to shoot well and fast. Fun range toy with the 30rd mags I ordered. Got it "used" but it looked like it had never seen more then a couple mags at most... Runs like a top.

    MAP1.jpg

Next up, Taurus PT1911... Now all you 1911 guys, this will really bunch your panties..it is also a 9mm. Dont hate... I have had 'em in .38super and .45acp too(still have).... I dont reload so the .38 super was pricey to shoot, the .45 is for killing people, and this one is for my race series, 9mm out of a full size 1911 is sooooooo easy to be accurate and fast with for me. Hardly any noticeable recoil and follow ups come oh-so quick. Already gave it a trigger job, and polished the rails up, and took a little out of the spring for the grip safety to soften it up more.. gun is tight, smooth, and damned accurate for its price. Already ran 400 thru it for "break in", only one FTE, on the 12 rd fired, nothing else after.

    1911.jpg

Picked up a nice little Taurus ultra light .38SPL snubbie, Magnesium frame, this thing is stupid light, even loaded, it disappears nicely into a back pocket, considering getting an ankle holster for it... nice gun for me to carry now that its getting hot out, especially at work on days when Im only in the office and dont need anything more serious. Sorry for the crap pic...

    snubbie.jpg

Forgot to take a close up of the Tomahawk, it's an SOG Fusion Tactical 'Hawk, always wanted to learn to throw one, saw it on sale and couldn't say no. Now I have one to learn to throw, man would it suck to catch one of these with your face.

  16. Ill see if I can find it again.. I havent updated it in a long time so its probably 20 pages back by now and I have changed things around a few times, and changed my mind even more, so the log is way behind... I might as well just start a new one once I get moving on it again. Its a '99 Town Car, nothing special..250amp alt, couple runs of zero, Kinetic 2400, little bit of glass work on the doors, had SA 12's in it, then went to a Z series 18 on a DAT 2500.1, the DAT cooked itself, and I decided I wanted my trunk back, so Im in the midst of a minor tear down.. Ill be running one 12 on about 1500 watts once I get around to buying some more MDF and a new sub stage amp... Not an all out SPL ride, nor a true SQ build, just a kinda loud clean sounding daily driver.

  17. thanks for your input cableguy.. how much would you recommend over lapping the speakers? Keep in mind my speakers are most likely nowhere near as nice as what you are running... I have had my 8's playing down to 50hz with no issues... so Ill see how they like 40hz. What would you recommend as a good "base line" for setting all my crossovers at, with a decent overlap ? The doors are using a 3 way, Oxygen air 83 comp set... I might be looking at some different tweets tho, I want to see if going active makes me happy with their sound, at this point Im not sure if its the tweets, or the passive crossover that makes me not like their sound. I like my tweets to be on the bright side of things.
