The box was built to alpines specs, what do you suggest it be tuned to platypus?
Ya.. I'd start over. youre box is no bueno. Tiny port, no clue on tuning.

I agree, although its a little off... the office weinys did have some say over the nuetering of the cartridge, but from what Ive read it was also harder for the field agents to accurately shoot and qualify with the 10mm full house loads as well, so it was not only a weinys complaint, but a lack of training and ability on the field agents end of things.

All of the above is sound advice. But you'd have been better off painting your port before assembling the box. Not a big deal tho, just wouldve been easier to get it done nicely.

OK. Cool story bro. So what now? make a law that you have to be a certain kind of person to own a big car on nice rims?.. I see your point, to a point.... but in the end it doesnt really matter. It just as easily couldve been someone in a ratted out 88 cutlass on rusty steel rims that shot him... shit happens all the time.

2 BTL's and youre only giving them 1k each.. they are probably screaming for more power. I tend to stay away from things like the Epicenter, Bass Mechanik etc... In my opinion, not worth the potential hassle they could be. I dont like things that can possibly add distortion or that alter the music as it is coming from the source. Seems to me like its an easy thing to get over excited with and cook some gear. You would benefit most from adding a lot more power to those subs.

personally, Id start over. If you want a back seat, run less subs and make a proper box. It isnt that hard if you have a circular saw, a jigsaw and a drill. thats all you really NEED to make a box.
If you want all those 12s...then lose the back seat and make it what it needs to be, spend a few bones a a proper box design and get to work. Either way, capping the port is a band aid in my opinion. Itll make it sound better, but you will loose output overall.
What I would do: If I wanted to keep back seat, Id toss 4 of those woofers and sell 'em.. Use that money to buy more MDF and supplies, and do it right. Garaunteed it'd be louder than what you have now. You dont exactly have a shit ton of power on tap and IMO would benefit from using less subs and more airspace per sub.. shit even with just 4 of those, you are only talking ~250 w per driver... not a lot at all. Bigger boxes for lower power.

There are upholstery shops in clumbus.. if you havent found anything within a 2 or 3 hour drive, you are not looking hard enough haze... Theres a couple decent shops up my way near Cleveland, I can get their numbers if you are interested.

you can use just about anything to guide the saw, line up where everything needs to be, quick clamp it and run your cut.
