Not to be a buzz kill, but you bought a way overrated sub. The coil isn't even a true 3 inch, so it can't even be reconed. I blew my 1233 on not even 1500w total, and no, the signal was not at all clipped. You will probly be lucky to see any reliability at even 1000wrms.

Ok, I entered the 4 12inch Subs into winISD, and it recommends 9.7 cu.ft, and 29hz tuning. With the motor being limited in xmax, wouldn't i be better off sticking the subs into a box more along the the lines of 7-8 cuft.? If i go too big, wouldn't i run the risk of bottoming out the subs at low end frequencies at rated power?? Also, i am going to try and make this box in sketch up, so i will post it up before i start building.

I just purchased 4 new (1999) Orion xtr pro 12s, and am wanting to start planning a box for them. I was thinking around 6 cu.ft airspace with a square blowthrough port tuned at around 30 hz? Does this sound reasonable, or should I go a little bigger? They will be powered by an audiopipe ap30001d set at 2000rms @2ohm. As well this setup is going into a gmc safari van. Thanks.

Yep i am. do u think they will be reconable by someone like FixmySpeaker(PSI) -
Just wondering I'd the original 1999 Orion xtr pros are any good? They are built by tc sound, have a 12 spoke basket and 2.5 coil so I'm assuming they are easily reconed?

You should put up a video of it in action when you get it so we can see what it can do. :] I wont be putting mine in to use for a while, but i am planning on putting this amp with a couple of 15's or 18's in an safari van that i have.

Hello, i just recently got a new audiopipe 30001d, and when i first opened it there was something loose inside. I took the bottom cover off to investigate, and thankfully it was just a loose piece of extra solder. (yeah for Chinese quality control!) Anyways, i thought i would take a video of the unboxing, and of the amp guts while it was apart. For the price, this amp is pretty beefy. It can take 16v input, does 3000wrms at 14.4v @ 2 ohm, and is CEA certified. Anyways, here are the videos of the unboxing, and of the amp guts......

Best box specs for an RE SX 10"?
detroitdiesel replied to detroitdiesel's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Ya, i'm just looking for someone who knows what optimum ported air space for these things are. I am going to design the box as it has to fit well into the Extended cab part of my GMC Sonoma. -

Anyone? I was thinking 1.5-2 cubic feet? -
I am getting an RE SX 10" (not the new kind) and am wondering what size of ported box would be best for it? I am thinking of tuning it to right around 30Hz, and it will be ran off of an Audiopipe AP15001D. The box i will be building will be going into an Extended cab GMC Sonoma. With a Pioneer AVH 3200BT. Thanks for the help. Oh, and by the way, DON'T buy the sub in my avatar. It may look like an RE MT, but its not. Its a Lanzar Optidrive 1233D. They make everything seemingly identical to the MT except they make the coil and coil-hole size for the top plate of the motor a couple of hundredths of an inch smaller than a "real" 3" coil, so you cant get a recone, just a paper weight. And Lanzars customer service is a joke. .....Me, "Hello, i was wondering if i could get a recone kit for a lanzar 1233d?". Parts man who can barely speak English, "Oh! U want buy speaker?!" and it continues like this until i hang up.
