If you keep the cap, does the price change?
Sure, five bucks off w/o the capacitor.

LOL. he mad.
and he clipped his sub to death.
ive never seen any hint of a psi bandwagon

it doesn't make sense. Why not run 5 xs3100's
and 3 d3100 with 270a should be plenty for dc 5k.
True, only reason for the use of the Kinetik's is that I already own them. Just thought they'd be good enough together for up front?
But yeah guess I should sell them and put and XS up front too. So you think three w/ be enough?

Oh and in case you aren't familiar with my car, it's a 2002 PT Cruiser. Dimensions I have are roughly 41"W X 47"L X 27"H(up to the window line). That is with plastic in, could be more room made if needed. Here are some pics of it empty

Okay guys, I am planning my next build for my PT, and I need opinions. I am thinking about trying 4 18's, non-walled, no back seat. Since I'm still a rookie w/ the "bigger setups", I was kinda thinking about doing a box similar to Steve's, subs up port back, except since my car is smaller it w/ become a two seater. And the equipment I am leaning towards is DC. I was thinking 4 - level4 18's on a 5K for starters, with a 270a mechman alt, MLA VBM, and four XS D3100's, with two Kinetik HC1400's up front. Later I could still add a second alt, more batts, and a second DC 5K.
So my question is, does this sound like a good idea for me and my car? I am looking for a daily 150+ that sounds good on music and does a good ass hair-trick w ease. So is this gonna be a good idea? Would 15's be better considering my space? And wall/no wall??? I am open to all serious suggestions. And thank you for your time

Do you have the end caps?
yessir I have them both!

That is sweet! I'd LOVE to see what it would do w/ proper electric! I bet it w/ be +155! And on music!

May I ask what a Denso Hairpin is?

Man, that does look sweet!

Can someone just buy them, and buy re-cones for them, and diy?
If so do you know where to get them/ how much?
Thanks!

Kicker amp sound better than Hifonics, and are more efficient, IMO! I had a BRZ2100.1d and all I can say is you better be feeding it proper electric if you want it to do rated. And even then, the Kicker amp just sounds a little better. IMO amps are the best thing Kicker makes, they are solid. I'd go w/ Kicker, out of those two for sure!

The car amplifier, the RH-200.4 looks like something we've seen here before
Not quite sure where u see that at??? Is that on that site?
-
That is a sweet ass truck! Personally, I woulda went w/ a straight axle swap. But I'm sure this setup rides a whole lot smoother! Just not quite as durable.
But still a sic ass truck no matter what!
Oh and good luck fitting those subs under the seat! I smell a blow-thru!

i love the predictions after week one. if rogers goes down. or ed reed or ray rice they are both in trouble.
^^^THIS^^^
SO many things can happen from now to then!
How many teams have looked INVINCIBLE after week one???
Talk to me in about 10 more weeks!
Oh yeah and GO COWBOYS!!!

I also have a little experience w/ Soundstream. I ran the Picasso amp for a little while, and I can tell you 100% that IT WAS A POWER HOG!!! I tried using it recently as an add-on, you know, throw a sub and box in the back seat and get a lil more bass. Well, the Soundstream sucked all the power! It GREATLY reduced the output of my other amps. So I changed it to a smaller amp, different brand, and it made a world of difference!
So all in all, the Soundstream amps, IMO, are too power hungry, and not efficient enough to make them worth using.
That being said, I have seen some HELLACIOUS systems built w/ Soundstream! It really depends on a lot of things I guess!

Man, I have been considering doing 8 - 12's w/ a DC 5K in a 4th order wall in my PT, and THESE subs w/ be PERFECT!
Hmmm ideas ideas!!!
-
Man, those seem pretty stout! I just watched the destruction videos, or should I say, the attempted destruction!
Nice product!

So to get down to .33 do I wire vc in parallel and subs in parallel or what?
If you have to ask...
Yeah, why do you have to be a dick??? I am curious as well.
Isn't that the reason for forums like this?
It's assholes like you that just love making people feel stupid. I would LOVE to catch in a dark alley somewhere and show you what it's like to feel stupid...
-
That is just pure genius! Steve, I am ready to move to Sac, and come work for you! I just want to be a part of the evolution of mobile audio! I would ALMOST do it as a volunteer!
Now I know that's not gonna happen, but I just can't help but to truly admire your work. Plus Ohio SUCKS!
Anyway thanks for the sneak peak, and keep up the AWESOME work!

The ones I heard were also in a church, sounded pretty good to me. Of course there wasn't anything to compare it to. But it sounded good to me, IMO.

I know, probably a stupid question, but do they sell re-cones for those?

I always just use a penny. Works perfect! I just put the penny in the throttle stop on the intake, instantly goes to 2000 RPM. Then when I'm done, take the penny out, and bam! Back to regular idle. Or if I want less I use a dime.
