  1. So my 2 DC 12's level 3's with an AQ1200D might push me into the 140s? I drive an SUV, and have never metered my system, though my last system a friend of mine who used to be into comps said it should have metered close to that with 2 cheap arse 15's in it...

It's all in the box huh?

    Man I love your avatar...

  2. Hello, I know you said not to post technical questions or price quotes, but this is just an idea. I don't want to be a bother, as I'm sure you get tons of questions from people "dream building". This is not me, but I do try to plan ahead. But I messed up, and bought a cheap LoadBoss 190a about six months back for my 2002 non-turbo Cruiser. So far, it is doing okay, but after reading about other LoadBoss alts, and learning of MechMan alts, I realize my mistake. I guess you get what you pay for. That's why I wanted to post this, for the next guy to learn from my mistake.

So, I recently spoke w/ Chris at MLA about a voltage module, but I want to get in touch w/ you before I do anything, and see what you could do for me. What I have in mind is this:

I recently found out that my air conditioning compressor is bad. And since these cars have little room under the hood, I was thinking replace the compressor w/ another alt, possibly 2 more alts, if enough room. Also, replace the factory(LoadBoss) and have a complete MechMan setup, w voltage boost module, if that is an option?

So, I just wanted to see if you can help me. I need to get some rough figures of what it will cost, so we can make it happen! Thanks for your time!

  3. Hey guys, been doing work building my "Kickin' Cruiser", and so far so good! I've been getting quite a bit of comments, and that's cool and all. But the thread starts off kinda crappy, and I'm afraid a lot of people give up after the first page or two. So I was thinking an uninterrupted build log, to go along w/ the regular build log, would be in order. I know I don't have 15 pages yet, but I will. Believe that.

So anyway, keep up the good work guys! Thanks for your time!

So, is no reply a polite way of saying "NO"?

  4. Hey guys, Purplehaze here, I wanted to put this out, just in case, you know. Anyway, I recently lost my job due to this economy, and to be honest, I am ready to start over new, somewhere else. I live in Southern Ohio, in what has to be one of the most depressed areas of the US. There is not much opportunity in a town of 300 people. I am 31 yrs old, and I have full custody of my son, so that will not be a problem. I am really good at a lot of things, I just need the right person to give me a chance. I'd like to find a career, or at least a dependable job, and start a new life in a new place. I'm sure many others feel the same way. I have been thinking of this for years, I just don't really know where to start. I'm open to any ideas, opinions or suggestions.

  5. I used circuit breakers instead of fuses. Like someone else said, if everything is right, and your not constantly flipping it back on, then they work fine. Houses use them, and w/ a lot more current than is in our cars. Sure they can f*ck up, but so can a fuse. If they were THAT dangerous, everyone would still have fuse boxes in their house. And yes, houses AND cars have burnt b/c of breakers. But they have also burnt b/c of fuses, too. My opinion is, if you do it right, either one will work fine. It's more a matter of what you want.

BTW - pm me if your still looking at them, I have 2 extra 200a Stinger cb's I'll let go pretty cheap, and they are still brand new in the box.

  6. im looking for a fourth order bandpass box design for 4 18s. Specifically the fi btl n3, tuned to 29 or 30 hz. im planning to put it into a new yukon xl denali. i was wondering if anyone could help me build one. and if anyone has heard about the n3s yet im really curious on how they play.

Wow, everyone needs to go a little easier on this fella, he doesn't claim to be an expert, and he clearly asks for help right off the bat.

Damn, remind me not to ask any stupid questions around here!

  7. its a cool video and defiantly not cool enough to be posted in the wrong section.p.s dont apologize to me i can care less im just saying lol

Is this really the wrong section? I would have guessed that this is exactly where to put it.

"Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"

So where would the right place be?

BTW the dude w/ the pvc was AWESOME!

  8. its much easier to block a youtube troll then it is to waste my time arguing with you all day about something you are just speculating about. This guy spends his hard earned money on some coilovers and you want to tell him the stuff he just bought has a 95% Failure rate and basicly shit on his purchase :bull: . It might not be top of the line but they cant be that bad either. They wouldnt be in business with that type of failure rate. You said what you wanted to say about it and so did I and thats the end of it. You want to go on and on and on, you get annoying and end up blocked.

Does Charles, with the Camel hanging out of his mouth and the primer paintjob really look like he is going to go hit the drifting track any time soon? The guy wanted to drop his car a few inches, big fucking deal. :dammit:

u know whats funny, if someone like me puts some drop springs over my stock struts, everyone bitches that i should have gotten coilovers. This guy gets coilovers and people bitch that his coilovers arent good enough. :ughdunno: You cant win you can only do what you do and deal with the trolls accordingly. :throwrock:

Bahahahahah! Well said, man I hate when people talk shit like that, it does get old.

  9. Man, I would definitely go w/ the engineering! Then you will make big money, and then you will be able to handle life easily, AND build some bad ass systems too! B/c you will be able to afford it, and b/c you will still have the passion for it!

But that's just my opinion. I wish I was in your position again. I'd be doing the engineering. And my whole life would be better, as well as my system!

  11. Hey guys, ever since I got my first in-dash DVD head unit, I realized how cool it is to make "music video DVD's", (or MVD's for short) that play just like a CD, but let you see the video and hear the song together. But I really haven't seen very many people doing it in their posts or demos. I know it's kinda hard to find good quality videos, but damn is it cool when u do. Also, I noticed some store bought MVD's, and that is nice, but not so legal to share online.

So anyway the purpose of this thread is to post links to MVD ISO's that YOU MADE YOURSELF, NOT COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL.

I will get what I have up shortly, and if their is something I am missing here, I'm sure SOMEONE will let me know promptly.

EDIT: Okay, so I obviously wasn't thinkin about the size of DVD ISO files. Anyone have any suggestions of how to make this easier?
